The menu is just Cafe level with 2 spaghetti, a few pizzas and the usual few mains. Don't expect gourmet here. Why the not so pleasant rating? 2 plates of spaghetti came like they jus poured all remaining broken pieces at the bottom of the jar in! And one of the plate had a long piece of plastic string which... More

Great service, friendly staff and vegan options available on the new menu. Easy to find and accessible to everyone. Outdoor dining and delicious food. I had the cold vegan noodle salad which went well with the sweet potato fries.

Both of us chose the pulled pork burger with fat chips. On the menu it sounded amazing...pulled pork, Chipotle sauce, slaw and fat chips. No sauce, pork was hot in some places and stone cold in others. No love shown at all, very sad. It was like a Sunday roll you would throw together at home. Was okay but expected... More

Group of 50 met at this function venue on a Saturday night. Private venue, isolated from the main bar. Good service from the staff, finger food was provided and was of reasonable standard. Bar service was good but felt under staffed. Venue was smallish for a group of 50, wouldn't have wanted any more in the room.

I chose to stay here because I only needed a bed overnight. Had no expectation of any particular standard. Was grateful not to have spend too much on the accommodaion. All the effort goes into the restaurant downstairs which is well staffed and well patronised. I guess doing up the rooms upstairs is a very long term project. My room... More

Wanted somewhere good to eat on Sunday - Decided on The Starbar, was greeted at the door by an exceptional well mannered young lady, and shown to our table. Within minutes our menus arrived, as did the complimentary jug of water, selected our meals and relaxed in the great atmosphere this establishment has.... OPEN FIRE !!!!! Just magnificent... Needed a drink so we strolled in and we ended up staying for the Parma! All I can say is YUMMY! Great service by our waitress and bar staff and a great atmosphere. Being a Tuesday it was Trivia night so that was an added bonus. Will definitely be back when we are back in Launceston 😊

I know that's a big call, but we have just spent 5 nights in Tassie and our mission was to try seafood chowder everywhere we went and The Star had the most delicious chowder ever, it was light, fresh & full of flavour. Well done chef! We also dined at a fine dining restaurant in Hobart apparently renowned for its... More

The Star bar in a poplar meet and greet place. Good food at a reasonable Price. Not just a pub meal but you would think you were at a good Resturaunt. Right in the heart of the city and lots of shopping around if you want a good lunch.
