I stayed here only one night.Because need to continue to the other places in Tasmania. It's close the town.I just walked everywhere to other tourist attraction, restaurant and convenience store. And it's very easy to find. The room was quite old also the bed.You need to pay for linen and no free wi-fi.The share bathroom and toilet wasn't really clean.Maybe because it's share.

This place has everything you need but isn't very homely. WiFi is expensive. You have to hire out linen. Location is good. Rooms are large but I imagine they would be freezing in winter - it wasn't that warm even in February. Plenty of car parking spaces. I wouldn't be in a rush to return but there's not many options...

Hello Elenor108, thank you for staying at Launceston Backpackers. Our winters are quite cold in Tasmania and each room has a heater that keeps the room warm. We did have a cold spell in February and our heaters were not on for those days. Safe travelling.

This is a back packers, though they do have en-suite rooms at very good rates. Stayed in an en-suite - ROOM 8. The good points... at the back of the hostel not much traffic and windows that can be opened wide for fresh air. The bad points ... the bed .. only a double.. uncomfortable. The fan in the bathroom...

Hello DDSWM, thank you for staying at Launceston Backpackers. We will have a look at the bed you mentioned to see if it is getting too old now. Thank you for telling us about the water temperature, we had this problem about a year ago and we were able to sort it out. We will contact our plumber today to...

I spent three nights there. For the price you do not get a good benefit: the rooms are very old, not nicely furnished and my second one was moldy. The bathrooms are a katastrophy and toilet paper rarely available. The kitchen even worse; the oven really dirty and the fridge, too. Fresh towels do not exist. The best area there...

If you visit in cold weather period, prepare your own blanket or it available to lend :) Reception staff is friendly and helpful. Just short distance walk to central part of Launceston and supermarket is nearby and convenience for us to grab any food need for cook. We stay at 2nd floor with no lift and carry our luggage. hoohoo...

This hostel achieves the bare minimum that a hostel should. It has beds, hot showers and a decent kitchen. The owner clearly has OCD and has signs all over the place instructing you of the dos and don'ts - no using candles, no using portable heaters, no drinking, no calling the manager after 9. Also you have to shell out...

Hello Fionalynch, Launceston Backpackers is located in a one hundred year old Federation building that many people feel is a beautiful charming building. We have a close professional relationship with the Tasmanian Fire Department. It is through their advice and previous experience that we place signs in rooms asking people not to use candles. The Fire Department also recommended we...

This hostel locates near the central part of Launceston. The hostel is clean including toilet facilities and comfortable. However, you should bear in mind that blankets and lean should be paid for around three fifty. Wifi will be charged also with around 200MB for each hour. For budget traveling, this is your choice.

The room is good enough, we have comfortable bed, clean and warm blanket. Communal area has enough place for everyone. The accomodation is quite old, but I feel comfortable with it, I love the sunny rooms and quiet atmosphere there. it made me feel so peaceful :) Receptionist staffs are very nice and helpful

Hello missanhtran, thank you for your review. Yes it is a lovely old building and we do get a lot of comments similar to yours about the huge amount of space there is in the communal areas and the bedrooms. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Safe travels.

Located across the road from a pretty park and a ten minutes walk from the centre of town, Launceston Backpackers is the best! In fact, hostels in Launceston generally seem to be very, very good. The hostel is in a grand old house with what appears to be built on bits. It's spotlessly clean and the dorm rooms and mattresses...
