I stayed at Vacy on a recent business trip to Toowoomba having previously stayed with my wife some years prior. It still has all the character and charm of days gone by and is a wonderful place to stay. My colleague had mixed up the dates but Graham the manager saw to it that were looked after despite having to...

We stayed at Vacy House purely for the convenience of closeness to our daughter`s wedding venue, but it was a stunning place to stay if you love old houses. It is very tastefully decorated to the point that it could be considered a museum but with all the mod-cons that today`s travelling public desires. The staff are lovely and nothing...

By booking one of the front four rooms you have the grandeur of past Toowoomba and an excellent central location easy to get to most attractions. Our room was grand with a four poster bed and large fireplace. The room was large with period furniture, ensuite and bay window (through to verandah) and an extra single bed in one corner....

A lovely night in Toowoomba at Vacy Hall - building on a past experience we thought this would be an excellent stay. Boy, were we wrong!!! Our experience was the worst that I have experienced in many, many accommodation places that I have stayed in around the world - including numerous heritage style abodes. What makes this stay so special...

Dear BJ2340, I suspect that the cleaning product that you detected was our traditional homemade floor polish which has nourished and preserved century old floors like ours for generations (including when you last stayed). Most guests find it reminiscent of beeswax and furniture polish, typically pervasive where fine antiques and a grand old mansion go hand in hand. I’m sorry...

I've been travelling intermittently to Toowoomba for work since last year and only just discovered a wonderful alternative to the standard motel/hotel offerings. You might imagine (as I confess I did when googling the town's accommodation from afar) that an historic house might not be suitable for a work stay but I'm so glad I was persuaded otherwise. Vacy House...

Wow, where do i start!? We were recently guests at Vacy Hall and it will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our entire wedding party were able to treat it as our home for a few days and it was magical! It's such a beautiful place and we were so lucky to both get ready for our special...

Vacy Hall is a well maintained, old-world house with a number of guest rooms decorated tastefully and appropriately for the era in which the house was built. The experience starts as soon as you arrive, stepping out of the car, walk under the gigantic tree, up a couple of stairs and through the stained glass bordered entry. The hallway provokes...

This historic guesthouse offered an excellent opportunity for wedding guests to stay near to Gips Wedding function centre. Very comfortable, lots of character great service of rooms and lovely breakfast served on the verandah if you choose. Very relaxing place, quiet and interesting place to stay - reasonable rates.

I chose Vacy house as I loved the historic homestead and well maintained gardens. As soon as I arrived I was greeted in a warm, cheerful manner and shown to my room. The décor was amazing and I loved the way the rooms opened on to a wide covered veranda with amazing gardens which instantly gave a sense of tranquillity....

Vacy Hall is like a time capsule that offers guests the opportunity to step back in time to a space where things were slower and less complicated, people had more time for each other and the world was more gracious. Built as a wedding present for the daughter of a wealthy squatter and pastoralist in the 19th century, Vacy Hall now provides travellers with a romantic experience reminiscent of the glory days of the 'squattocracy' with the convenience of a CBD boutique hotel. ... more   less
