We stayed one night on our east coast drive trip. Hotel itself is very old and need a big renovation but staffs are very friendly and room is clean. Best part of this hotel was meal in the restaurant. That was the best meal in our whole trip!

Stayed at Rydges while attending a hockey carnival. Nice 2nd floor room overlooking the Industrial Harbour so always plenty of activity to see from the balcony...but still very quiet and relaxing. Air conditioning worked well but the controls themselves were hanging off the wall!! Had my husband not been an electrical engineer we would not have touched it!! Stuck it back on the wall but fell off again before we left....I agree with the other writers about the lack of any services in the hotel over the weekend....find that a strange practice for a Rydges Hotel. The room itself although dated was clean and comfortable....but finding a fully stocked bar frig is now not the usual practice in most hotels overseas as it does cause problems if you need to put your own milk, water etc. in the frig. I realize that it is probably there for the business people with a company credit card!! The situation of the hotel is very convenient... right in the CBD....close to a very nice Thai Restaurant which was good seeing as the Rydges restaurant was closed on the weekend. The carpets in the hallway of the 2nd floor were badly stained ....not sure about any other floor...the reception staff were very friendly and helpful with directions etc. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed for two nights. Our room was not serviced at all and there was no breakfast offering from the restaurant. Well below the standard of service normally offered by Rydges. Does not match the level of service that you receive at Rydges Hotels at other locations. Very disappointing.

Staff were friendly enough, and the room was tidy. I did however find a stain on the bed sheets and the bathroom is in dire need of renovation. The most disappointing aspect of my stay however was the fact that I payed for breakfast to be included during my stay, and once checked in I was told the kitchen wasn’t working and they’d only be able to provide cereal. No refund, no apology nothing was offered and I still had to pay for the “breakfast” for each morning which obviously I didn’t eat and wasn’t provided. Pretty disappointing stay to be honest
