We needed accommodation in Newcastle CBD for Saturday night, so booked the Clarendon as we weren't looking for anything "flash" but also not interested in roughing it. In terms of price, it was one of the "middle-of-the-road" options. We were pleasantly surprised by our room, it was spacious and tastefully decorated with a tidy bathroom - it certainly wasn't a...

I arrived late at the hotel and was a bit surprised, looking at it from the outside. But everything worked great. The instructions for after-hours access were perfect, the hotel had called to make sure I knew what to do, the parking instructions worked exactly as advertised, the breakfast the following morning (at the blue door) was excellent, and the...

Well presented rooms - for a what is essentially a pub - it was a pleasant experience. Close and central. Friendly and helpful staff - adequate bistro menu and standard but well made pub grub. I would stay there again.

The bed was comfortable as was the sofa bed just unfortunate very little space between both beds. Great little balcony area outside with seating. TV was on the wrong wall though all three of us had...

Room was clean and tidy. Wasn't keen on the parking as was to small and narrow. Also wasn't impressed when we reserved a table in the dining room for dinner and when we got there, there was no table reserved for us and it was very busy they had to try and find a table to seat us.

Great room, totally comfortable. Stayed on a Tuesday and the music the kitchen was playing as they packed up was loud, think on later nights this could keep you awake. Great room service and food. Friendly staff.
