Been going to the Albion for years now and it never disappoints, great beers on tap that change all the time. The food used to be hit and miss but the last meal we had was excellent!!! The beef and Guinness pie was huge and tasty, will defiantly be going back for a meal( and a few beers😀)

Called at this hotel by chance recently for lunch. It was reasonably quiet, however found the meals of good quality and well priced. It is close to the city and not in the 'hustle' of the foreshore that are overrated and overpriced. Would return

Went for dinner and found it was Mexican night. Tacos, fajitas and quesadillas on offer. Yum!!!! All were delicious. Service super quick and super friendly. Great spot for Mexican on a Monday night. Bar has good craft beer selection.

Stayed one night on a Wed ($15 steak night). Room 4 (2 singles) was quiet with ceiling fan (no A/C) and opening window. Shared bathroom (functional and clean) which was ok with us. Clean and comfortable beds. Continental breakfast was included in the overnight price. As we are non smokers, we were worried about noise and smoke smell from the...

This is third time we have decided to have lunch at this establishment, this time bringing the in laws ( who I must say are very critical of restaurants ). Our orders were a couple Chicken Schnitzel, Salt and Pepper Squid and a Curry Beef Dish off the specials board. What can I say all meals were fantastic, the beer...

Turned up last night for one before intending to have Thai up the road, and ended up staying for dinner and the Thursday bingo. Food was on point and the bingo produced plenty of banter. Quality selection on the taps as well.

We went for dinner on Thursday night, which also happened to be Bingo night. The bistro was quite busy with patrons, and we had to wait more than half an hour for hour meals. The bingo lady was extremely loud with her announcements, so this was a little distracting and made it nearly impossible to have a conversation. We had...

Newly refurbished, this local pub has an excellent menu - great selection - look for the daily specials too. Being able to get drinks from the bar means the prices are reasonable. Meals are delicious. Can recommend the barramundi! Delicious! We didn't stay here.

This pub has had a siginificant turn around in the last year and a bit. Had a bit of a downfall for a little while, but when new permanent management came in, things went up from there. Taken trial and error to get back to doing well, but now this place is back to being great. Food is great. Menu...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Albion Hotel is located conveniently to the CBD of Newcastle, harbourside on Hannell Street in Wickham oposite the Newcastle Marina. The Hotel was built in 1922, has a long and colourful history and has recently been extensively renovated. The Albion is now a stylish, comfortable and affordable hotel that boasts one of Australia's best & largest craft beer selections with over 200 to choose from plus a constant rotation of our 11 beer taps and a fabulous beer inspired menu available in the multi award winning Bistro Albion open 7 days a week for lunch & dinner. The refurbishment took six months to complete with the interior designed to be welcoming, warm and modern while being sympathetic to the character of the era in which the hotel was built. The deep reds, chocolates and timber combined with soft colourful furnishings provide an excellent environment in which to enjoy a fabulous menu and a fine selection of wines and refreshments. The operators of the Albion husband & wife team Corey & Kristy Crooks have carefully chosen friendly, knowledgable & enthusiastic staff whom provide professional, efficient service. We welcome local and new customers alike and aim to please everyone. We have full foxtel facilites and all sporting events, tournaments, races and games are treated as a celebration with screening on our spectacular big screen TV’s. The Menu is designed to accommodate all, for example you can enjoy a dozen oysters with a flute of hunter sparkling wine from Petterson's in the Lounge, a Wagyu Beef Burger with a Murray's Craft beer in the front bar or a full three course meal in the more formal Bistro Albion. Customers are able to choose what is most suitable for them so as to ensure a positive experience. If you are visiting the CBD of Newcastle and require accommodation for one night or more there is no better place to be other than the Albion Hotel, Harbourside.
