We stayed here for one night after attending a race meeting at Goodwood. Great pub with delicious food, laid back atmosphere, very comfortable accommodation and friendly staff. We'd love to visit again and stay here when we're next in the area. Excellent value all round.

We visited for lunch after visiting Bignor Roman Villa . Very friendly staff and excellent dining - we enjoyed fresh cod , Scottish mussels and Thai fish cakes followed by an excellent Tarte Tatin and ice cream . One of our party was in her 90's and while the front of the pub had steep steps - it was a...

We went for an evening meal as we were staying nearby and were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I had the gnocchi, my friend had prawns, salad and chips and we both enjoyed the delicious blueberry icecream for dessert. I was disappointed that there was only Doom Bar ale on tap but there was a wide range...

We stayed mid week with a couple of friends who had not been before and who were highly impressed. Our evening meal was really good and breakfast excellent as usual. Nick, the landlord is not only a first class chef but an excellent host.

Went for an evening meal and have been many times. Pub was unusually empty, but as usual we had a very pleasant meal with drinks. Good selection on the menu to suit most people. A bit out of the way, but always a warm welcome and worth a visit. Recommended.

Just popped in for supper with my husband - atmosphere lovely, roaring log-fire, proper church candles lit on every table whether occupied or not, vases of daffodils everywhere and the food was fab as always. My husband chose from a fish menu (Thursday evening - not sure if fish menu available every night) and I had a salad. Many places...

We had our lunch stop at The white horse inn during our hike. The food was surprisingly great! I ordered the grilled sea bream which was fresh and full of flavor. My husband ordered peri peri chicken. It was the best chicken we've ever tried since we moved to London. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We went there for lunch on Saturday. The food was very good and an interesting choice and based on this I would go again. However the pub lacks atmosphere and was cold despite there been a log fire. The gents was freezing with the radiator turned off. There was also a chair in the dining area stacked with towels. This...

We had dinner here on the first night of a weekend break. The food was really nice with a great range of choices on the menu and a list of specials. The bar had a limited number of beers on tap. The wine was fairly standard. We enjoyed the meal but the place lacked much atmosphere and the decor was...

We didn't start out from Godalming with the intention to drive to Petworth/Sutton, but remembered how much we love this pub/restaurant (and Inn). Tucked away it certainly is, but so worth the drive. As ever, friendly welcoming bar service, fire was blazing and the food consistently amazing. Over the last 5 years we have never had anything but exceptional food...
