When we booked two nights here we did not realise how far from the town it is (more than 20 km's) so if you intend to eat or drink out then prepare foe a drive. The hotel has a snack bar but this is extremely limited. The manager will let you use the backpackers kitchen. The room was very clean...

We stayed in a double room. This lodge is in need of TLC. The outside lights have not been cleaned in years and are full of webs, the gardens need weeding and tyding up. Inside is comfortable but could do with a revamp. Bed linen is old and needs to be replaced. No cell phone connectivity or WiFi. Must have...

After reading mixed reviews , I was very pleasantly surprised by our stay. The motel room was very clean, and had everything we needed, bathroom vg, bed and pillows very comfortable, kitchen good enough to cook a lovely roast pork dinner and sit with glass of wine looking at the sunset on mountains. My husband got coverage on phone by...

This was the only place we could book 2 month in advance, and now we understand why. The place might be the right place for Backpackers who does not care, but standard does not at all meet the website pictures or description. The location 28 km outside the city of Te Anau, meant that we spend 30 min going for...

We stayed here for a night before driving to Milford Sound. In terms of that, the place was just right. Nice and quiet atmosphere. Make sure to bring along some food as there is no supermarket nearby. Te Anau is around 20km away. Wayne the guy who runs the place was very kind and helpful with organizing trips in Milford...

Old furniture, dirty room, the toilet did not have soap (let alone shampoo). My room was next to the door to the common living room and kitchen (both also not so clean) and the noise from the people talking and going herecand there outside my room door was very annoying. The view outside my window was the parking lot. Thank...

Wayne, the owner, I supposed, was a very nice fella. The place was a bit tired but you get what you pay for. The common dining area and kitchen were surprisingly clean. The room was a bit tired and not as clean and tidy as the common area, but hey, it's a lodge, not a hotel. With no free WiFi...

We booked two nights in this accommodation early last year from the UK and were a bit shocked when we arrived to learn we were in neither the hotel or motel but had been placed in the backpackers accommodation, never having backpacked in the 60+ years of our life. That said, there were other people our age group there. It...

You get what you pay for here. We found the guy at the desk to be perfectly professional and courteous. Everything was as advertised - it's a lodge in the middle of a jungle - so no easy access to restaurants and WiFI as well as cellular coverage virtually non existent. Its no ritz Carlton but ample cooking facilities, clean...

Where to start. This place is more than a little run down. They keep it up the best they seem able to, but my goodness....The beds are all mismatched in coverings, some doors have electric locks, others (like ours) had ancient looking skeleton keys that would be simplicity in itself to pick. The first rooms toilet did not flush...and that...
