Cabin was ideal for privacy and having your own space. Overall amenities OK. Ray was a wealth of info. But if you remove those Birch trees you'll have to shorten the name of the cabins. Had to opt for a video from Rays collection due to weather. Suggest a video makeover Ray. Thanks for the hospitality and the snow show...

Thank you for the review of our 4 plus star cottages. We are surprised by your 3/5 score when the only thing you have cautioned us on is our DVD collection. The 65 that we have, covers all ages and the popular NZ based movies (Hobbit and Lord of the Rings) are part of the collection. The 80 channel "Sky"...

This was our second visit to Te Anau for my wife and I and we chose to stay with Ray and Leonie at Birchwood Cottages based on our very positive experience the first time back in 2010. It was like nothing had changed and we were welcomed back like old friends. In our experience Ray can never do enough to...

Hi Foales Great to have you back after 6 years. I hope you have 'hardened' up by now and are planning the next visit already. Sometime in the next 12 months would be good. Thank you for the wonderful comments and we are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us Regards Ray and Leonie

Thank you for your review. The enclosed log fires are very popular in the winter and we are pleased you appreciated the warmth. Regards Ray

Just start by saying that I visited with the family to Ray's a couple of years ago but absolutely enjoyed the time we had there. We arrived late in the afternoon from Queenstown to a cold chill in the air. We checked in and received a warm welcome from owner Ray and his wife Leonie, but when we got into...

Thank you for your review of our accommodation at Te Anau. We are pleased that you enjoyed the warm welcome from us and most important the log fire having the cottage warm on the chilly day that you arrived. We hope to see you return one day soon and we will have the log fire cranking once again.

We stayed for 2 nights as a base to milford sound. The accomadation for 5 family members was spot on in the 3 bedroom appartment. Very spacious, clean and warm. Leonie and Ray were so friendly and helpful. We went to milford sound on the small group tour run by ray and was an experience not to be forgotten. We deserved...

Would rate this as above average at 3.5 stars. Bit disappointed (after the glowing reviews we read here) to find that there was no convection oven (only a microwave one) and that all the units only had mobility shower bathrooms, according to the front desk. Cons: - No oven, but there is a microwave and stove top. - No dishwasher,...

Our two x 4.5 star plus cottages have gas hobs with 4 burners and microwave ovens. This is clearly advertised. Had you wanted a bath tub and full oven we or your agent would have provided one of the five other cottages that have both a full oven and bath tub. Had you wanted a unit with a dish washer...

We had a very comfortable stay in the 3 brm luxury cottage I think it was. Very cosy & warm, really comfy beds! Fully stocked kitchen cutlery/crockery etc. Although we ate out both nights. Close to town restaurants supermarket petrol. On the main road heading to Milford Sound, we did not find it noisy at all. The owner/manager was very...

Thank you for your review of our three bedroom cottage. You have appreciated that they have full kitchens and that you only have a short walk to the town centre. The modern double glazed windows certainly keep the place "quiet" We are pleased that you will stay with us again one day.

Family of 3 generations stayed in 3 bedroom cottage for 2 nights. Great friendly staff, cottages could not have been better, very clean and had everything one would need. We had a 2 year old which fitted in well in the cottage, BBQ supplied which was great. Highly recommended.

The cottage was snug and warm with good privacy. The cottage was close to town and we had a discount for a milford trip the owner ran. Great kitchen facilities also. Although on a "main road" its very quiet in this town and cottage.
