Perfect location on lakefront, walked everywhere, shops ,cafes, tour centre. Our host Robyn was very helpful and knowledgable. Room was clean, fully stocked, great towels and loved the heated mattress pad as the nights were cool. Only complaint- and it seems to be everywhere , is the showers aren't enclosed so you get water everywhere.

This is a great little motel. The manager Robin was probably the most welcoming and accommodating host we've EVER experienced in all our years of travel. He really went out of his way to help us out on several occasions during our recent 3-night stay. Kudos to you Robin! As for the motel itself, it's clean and comfortable and within...

We arrived to leave baggage overnight prior to cruise on Milford Sound - all arranged by the friendly manager. Upon our arrival next day, fresh fruit awaited us, together with free WIFI and full briefing of the town's attractions. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean, tidy and felt fresh and cared-for.

Great motel stay, extremely well appointed and spotlessly clean. Fantastic host Robin who has that rare quality of being interested in his customers and makes their enjoyment his priority. Fruit bowl, room warming, tour & hospitality advising and always available. Easy car parking. Great stay, thank you.

Stayed here prior to walking the Kepler track. The place is in a bit of a time warp with seventies decor which would be fine if it was actually attempting to be kitsch (see photo) - Not good value for money.

Although the decor maybe a little dated and there is no direct view of the lake the Red Tussock Motel is extremely friendly and welcoming. The live on site manager/owner, Robin, genuinely cares about every guest and will do anything to make your visit as pleasurable as possible. He is very knowledgeable of the local area and offers the best...

A nice place to stay in Te Anau, large clean rooms, located across the road from lakefront, pleasant few minutes walk along lake to town centre. Everything we needed was provided and Robin couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. A great place to access the Fjordlands National Parks information centre and activities.

As we arrived the staff walked us through all the amenities and procedures. Very organized and thorough. Rooms are just right, nothing fancy but well-done. Lots of space in our room to spread out and organize our luggage etc. Fresh milk for the coffee and fruit on the table were awesome! Close enough to town to walk but far enough...

We had the two bedroom unit at the rear of the property. Very, very clean, good sized kitchen/dining/lounge area. It is older but very comfortable and had a homely feel to the place. Robin was fantastic, confirmed and advised on upgrade for our Milford sound cruise, places to see, places to eat, shop and get petrol. Map to get around....
