This was a nice enough hotel. Room was fine and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The setting is absolutely glorious, shame our room didn't overlook the lake, but you can't have everything. Would recommend this hotel to others.

Limited free wifi in the lobby. I would like to see hotels treating wifi as the essential service that it really is rather than a source of income. The hotel is located a short walk from the town center.

This is a very bad experience. The reception gave us a very noisy room near to laundry room although we asked for a quiet room. The staff in the laundry room played very loud radio music and used washing machines in the early morning. There was no consideration for the guests near door. However, the rooms are tidy and clean....

Just off the main road into town, it's only a 10-15 minute walk from the town center. The hotel itself is a bit tired, and the rooms don't have much to drown out ambient noise. The beds are old and springy. But the front desk staff was very helpful and courteous when we arrived, helping us learn the lay of...

Especially the staff went above and beyond and was very welcoming. Thanks especially to receptionist Lars who made our stay even better. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The location is right next to the lake. There was an old, half-empty water bottle in our fridge when we first arrived. Free Wifi is only available in the lobby 30...

The Kingsgate is located on the main road going into Te Anau, about a ten minute walk from the towns shops, restaurants, grocery store and entertainment. Hotel is older but clean and well maintained, staff friendly and helpful, this is a popular hotel with tour groups so a lot of coming and going in lobby. Hotel is not air conditioned...

Just opposite the lake you can fall out of the hotel straight into a good walk. We had a bright, good sized room with an empty fridge, T.V. and alarm clock. The bathroom was a little small but had an overbath shower, handbasin and W.C. The shower was adequate. The reception staff were helpful but generally the staff were not...

The rooms are spacious and comfy. They very clean and have some great views with all the amenities you need. The staff were very helpful and accomodating and the prices were just right with value. The only downside was our room was quite hit at night given it is summer. Would still def stay here again
