the hotel was fairly quiet when we stayed but the room was very spacious and clean - great to stay in such a lovely old hotel (the only drawback was being on the 2nd floor with heavy bags and no lift). We had the continental breakfast in the morning which was good value for money (and the best priced we've...

This was an enforced stopover as the flight and ferry to Stewart Island was cancelled. We booked online from Invercargill airport and the taxi ride into town was less than $20. we were greeted really nicely by Georgie and our room was available straightaway. She was very helpful with recommendations for where to eat (on a cold, very windy Anzac...

A beautifully restored hotel in central Invercargill. Delightful friendly staff and a superbly well presented room. I could not recommend more highly. It is an easy walk to lots of bars and restaurants, well a few it is Invercargill.

Invercargill is the southern most city in the Southern Hemisphere. That alone makes it worth a visit. It was once a more grand place than it is now, but some of that grandeur can still be seen and experienced by staying at the Victoria Railway Hotel. The former main Railway Station has been converted into a fairly large, yet quaint...

What a beautiful building - inside and out. The staff is super friendly and helpful. Thankfully the staff members are strong, too, as they carry luggage up and down the stairs for you. Loved meeting Bubbles the cat. We had a lovely big room upstairs toward the back and very quiet. Not much of a view out the window, but...

I stayed here while travelling across NZ. There isn't much I can say that could be negative about it...other then the traffic noise which isn't the hotel's fault...I'm not use to traffic noise I guess! Other then that it's just great. Old world big rooms...a big comfy bed and a massive bathroom. Beautiful furniture to in keeping with the era...

I can only comment on the room we loved to be in for two nights. Ground floor, restored to elegance. Only surpassed by the marvelous couple running the establishment. We enjoyed some evening drinks with them at the end of each day and learned about the history and providence of this hotel. Highly recommended if you want an experience totally...

This hotel is full of character, nicely decorated and immaculate. Our room #1 was on the ground floor and initially we were concerned about road noise. We should not have been. It was quiet until at least 8:30 in the morning and after that, well there are places to go and things to see. The room included a small fridge...

When looking for accommodations in Invercargill, there are not a lot of options that I would consider. My husband wanted to see the southern tip of the south island and "The World's Fastest Indian", located in an amazing hardware store in the middle of town. I booked the VIP suite, which was actually nicer than it looked on the website,...
