Great hotel and meals. This was a group one night stay in this hotel. We enjoyed a Scottish haggis ceremony included in our visit. Could not fault the meals; all good. The major down side was the service at the bar. My travelling companion and I were refused drinks at the bar for an unknown reason. We had consumed only 3...

Many thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. Our bar staff are well trained in NZ liquor licencing laws and articulated the reasons for refusal of service to both yourself, the Grand Pacific tour leader and Duty Manager at the time. We understand your disappointment at cutting a good night short. On a more positive note, we see...

About 20 minutes walk from main town centre but opposite the excellent Botanical Gardens. This is a smart and modern hotel matching the standards expected of Mercure worldwide. Although the evening entertainment was offered through dining one night in the restaurant this was not normal and did not spoil our trip. Breakfast was buffet style and plenty of it as...

Location is great - easy to find, and just a block away from a busy bus route (George St). The complex was well designed when it was built and that good design has stood the test of time. Staff are friendly and accommodating. The hotel has a garden setting which is attractive and shares a boundary with Dunedin's Botannical Gardens....

This nice hotel is located next to a botanical garden. After checking in we went for a walk at the garden. It was very pleasant hiking up the hills, watching the ducks swin in the pond and just admiring the well tended grounds. There is a grocery store close by too where college students play music. The hotel has a...

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review of our hotel. We are delighted you enjoyed your stay and surroundings. With regards to the 2% credit card surcharge, this has no relationship to us being an Accor hotel or part of that chain. Banks charge a credit card surcharge on every credit card transaction processed. Our hotel prefers...

Rooms are good , but the beds could do with topper covers for comfort. but avoid eating dinner there. Food is average Only one drink coupon per couple.Bar area is good with some character.Easy car parking and close to the Botanical gardens.

Thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate your comments and will review them with a view to improvement. For readers, the drink coupon referred to is a benefit of an Accor Membership. A welcome complimentary drink is offered to the card holder, not each guest in the cardholder's party.

We stay at Accor hotels regularly and chose this one because it is part of the chain. But not again! The better things first. The staff are polite and friendly, if resistant to feedback from customers. The room has a lovely outlook over the garden and seems to be quiet so far as road noise is concerned. But .... the...

I was just in for the one night as I was in Dunedin to see The Cult. Nice looking place, nice reception (meaning the person), a wee way from the city centre (2.2km) but walkable, and some shops including a supermarket much closer to the north. The only downsides were minor - I'm a tall guy and the room had...

We checked in this hotel on 29 Oct 2016 Room no. 107. Our room was just like in a den. All the time we have to keep curtains for our privacy because our room was on ground floor towards road. We felt suffocated in room. Location of this hotel is not good. It is in a housing colony. Dining room...

The room was very small and pokey. Bathroom was smaller still there was definitely not enough space. It felt like the room was converted into a room from a store room. The grounds were beautiful though and a lovely outlook. Meals were good but the room let down the experience.

Many thanks for taking the time to review our hotel. We appreciate your feedback. We don't have any converted store rooms posing as guests rooms, just standard sized hotel rooms. We are naturally disappointed you felt the facilities were small. On the other hand, we are delighted you found the rest of our facilities to your satisfaction.
