My wife, daughter and I stayed at Tangley on Clyde and experienced the wonderful hospitality offered by Janet & Ian Wallace. They have a beautiful and stylish old house and our room was spacious, with a very comfortable king sized bed plus two single beds in a separate section of the room. We also had an en-suite with Jacuzzi bath... More

Myself and my wife had to attend my fathers funeral recently in Christchurch and we decided to stay with Janet & Ian. From the moment they opened the door to welcome us after a long day of driving and a flight to Christchurch we felt there warmth and compassion to my sudden loss of my father. Each day we enjoyed... We stayed with Janet and Ian for only two short nights (after returning from Mount Cook to rush to Auckland). Both Janet and Ian are very lovely people, and as you will read from other reviews they are more than gracious hosts in addition to being excellent travel advisers. Having read a few other reviews, I concur with the all... More

Ian and Janet were so helpful in planning out tour of the South Island, and we followed their recommendations closely which worked very well. The B and B is beautifully decorated and an excellent resting place following our long flights from the UK. Janet's breakfasts were excellent and Ian very knowledgeable about the country, local and further afield. Christchurch itself... More

We stayed with Ian and Janet for three nights in total, returning after one and a half weeks for the last two nights of our holiday in NZ. They were very gracious hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We had a lovely spacious room, which was clean and tidy, with tea and coffee provided every day, and the house... More

This B&B is in a residential area of Christchurch. We stayed here for one night between arriving from Napier by air and departing on the Trans-Alpine train. The location is good for this: 10 minutes by taxi to the station and 15 minutes to the airport. The B&B is a 15 - 20 minute taxi ride to the centre of... More

A 3 night stay at the beginning of our holiday and one night at the end. Janet and Ian were brilliant hosts in a lovely home. We enjoyed all the treats mentioned by other reviewers and also had the pleasure of two evening meals - not to be missed. It was really good to go back at the end of... More

We stayed here for one night at the end of a tour of south island. Having stayed at several very good hotels our expections were high. We were not disappointed, the room was fantastic with every need catered for. Janet is a very good host and provided tea in the garden and made a booking at a nearby restaurant for... More

Stayed here 3 nights at end of South Island tour. Everything that other guests have said about how good this place is, are true. We had a wonderful welcome from the whole family. It was my birthday and they celebrated with us in the garden with champagne. Their advice on what to see and where to go were spot on... More

“We stayed in the Ardlochan Suite which like is beautifully furnished with an en suite bathroom. You should visit the website: www.tangley.co.nz which is informative and the owners are more than happy to respond to queries and needs. Noise is not an issue as the house is set in from the road with a lovely garden and mature trees.”
