After 3 weeks in a motorhome I thought we deserved a treat prior to flying home. And Merivale Manor is certainly a treat. The original house is magnificent and has been totally refurbished and restored to its original glory. We had a room at the rear and it was fabulous – like staying at the Ritz; modern and super comfortable...

We spent 4 weeks in New Zealand touring both North and South Islands. After staying in many different Motels the Merivale Manor was one of our favourites. The accomodation, especially in the Manor House, is very well appointed, clean and well kept. Having a breakfast supplied is also a bonus. It is only a short walk into Christchurch and shops,...

We had a short one night stay. The motel manager was fantastic, helpful with suggestions for dinner and city information. We walked from the city centre and to a great restaurant for evening meal. The room is small but very clean. The road is busy but quiet at night.

Adequate and comfortable room. Just what is needed from a Motel. Very helpful and friendly people on the reception desk. A good Motel. In easy walking distance of a really good pub with amazing food. A good first stop after arriving at Christchurch Airport.

Arrived after long flight. We asked in advance if our room would be available in advance of the normal check in. It was, as they ensured it was to get us settled in. Accommodation was comfortable, if a little small, but satisfied our needs. As with all accommodation we had in New Zealand, we were given milk and tea/coffee, but...

This was our second trip to New Zealand. We arrived in Christchurch for three nights to acclimate ourselves to time zone changes. Place was perfect! Close to stores, Hagley Gardens, airport, and restaurants. Room was quiet, comfortable, and kitchen loaded with plates, cups, and utensils. Front desk was very nice and made us happy to arrive and sad to leave....

The owners of Merivale Manor could not have been more welcoming and helpful in ensuring our stay was a pleasant experience and comfortable in every way. Well located not far from the city centre we would highly recommend this motel for your stay in Christchurch.

We spent a night in the Manor building itself on arrival in NZ and then had a night in the apartments over the road at the end of the trip. In both cases, we had very comfortable accommodation although the Manor is the more attractive. The staff were all very welcoming. Really enjoyed the fact they provide slices of bread...

We stayed in a manor studio in the house and everything was lovely. The room was large, beautiful and very comfortable. We had the use of a large balcony, a small complimentary breakfast was included and there was a free laundry. It was a 20 minute walk into Christchurch-10 minutes of the walk is through the park and a 5...

Had a 3 night stay in a ground floor manor studio (main house) at the back of the property. The room was very comfortable with small kitchenette/dining room and separate bedroom. Bathroom was finished nicely but a touch small. Accommodation was clean and tidy and on site parking available. Room rate per night was reasonable and basic (very basic) breakfast...
