The Rydges Latimer Christchurch is a very conveniently located accommodation.
Christchurch’s main square and dining precincts were but a 10 minute walk from the hotel.

I am not aware of a free hotel shuttle but taxis are usually easy to catch and the distance is not too far. if there are five of you I would contact blue bubble taxis over the internet or ask the hotel to arrange one for you and ask for a taxi van. the cost will probably be less than a shuttle per person when you have 5 people. although i travel for business I wouldn't contemplate another option and wouldn't use either a shuttle or bus unless I couldn't get a taxi van. nz taxis are generally pretty honest and will be metered so no fare shenanigans.
