Some heritage buildings are beautifully maintained and inviting.....but this one wasn't to our taste. The multitude of colours, patterns and knickknacks along with some very tired furniture made Eliza's unappealing to us. However, the staff was very helpful and it was reasonably clean. About a 10 minute walk to the beautiful botanical gardens and 20 minutes walk to downtown, it...

We were booked by our agent to stay at Eliza's twice on our recent trip to NZ and found the staff to be friendly and helpful each time. The rooms weren't really to our taste, and needed a little tlc, but were comfortable enough. We stayed in different rooms each time, and found our second room (Room 4) to be...

We checked in with the friendly staff and easily found parking. They showed us to room #10 which was spacious, clean and very charming. Eliza's is a 10-15 minute walk from downtown everything you need is within walking distance. Can't wait to come back.

Their reservation website requires a 25% deposit for a reservation. It has a "Visa Verified Process' extra verification beyond your credit card's 3 numbers in the back. This process consist of your personal secret phrase and a password. My password was corrupted, which I resolved with my bank, made my reservation, my credit card was charge the 25%. My issues...

Good evening My apologies for this delay, The refund process is unfortunately out of our hands and our bank is looking into this to resolve as soon as possible as we have tried different avenues and had no luck crediting the amount back to you direct from our end. There is no need to dispute this transaction, the payment of...

Stayed as a family of 3 and had adjoining heritage rooms. While all the bears may be an acquired taste for some (see other reviews), this is a lovely boutique hotel and when you read about the effects of recent earthquakes on the building, the owners have done a remarkable job in getting things back on track on more than...

We spent two nights here. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were given a most beautiful room at the front of the hotel. Road works started outside on our first night. The staff were so attentive the gave me a pair of ear plugs. Luckily the work stopped reasonably early. The breakfast was very good and plentiful. The building survived...

Stayed here for 4 nights in November including the earthquake night. Room and shower were great. It was a shower stall, not a tub, in case people are looking for bathtubs. Enjoyed breakfast in the dining area 3 of the mornings, on the last morning we skipped breakfast as we left at 5am to catch a flight. Inn is easily...

Thank you for your review! We are so glad you were able to spend so long in Christchurch with us and that you enjoyed the room. It is such bad luck that the earthquake had to strike on your last night. However we are pleased that you felt safe here immediately. Indeed our building is very safe to be in...

We enjoyed the location near Hagley Park and Botanical Gardens and the easy ability to walk around the various street art locations in Christchurch. The staff was very helpful on dinner recommendations.

We needed a 1 day stay in Christchurch before heading on our way to Queenstown and found this great boutique hotel on a main street of Christchurch. The people are very friendly and the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. We stayed in the Servants Quarters (the rooms each have names) which was at the back of the hotel, the...

My wife and I were in the B&B begin March 2017. Situated 20 minutes from the centre of the city (easily to be reached on foot). A very beautiful B&B, with character. Very spacious, clean en comfortable room. An excellent, helpful, and friendly hostess. Good breakfast in a pleasant breakfast room. A bit expensive, as other B&B's in NZ have...
