Situated next to the Christchurch Botanical Garden/Hagley Park, this hostel/motel offers a truly unique experience. Room 220 is a corner room overlooking the cathedral and offers partial view of Hagley Park. It is opposite to the Christchurch i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, located at 28 Worcester Blvd. There's a cafe (Robert Harris) onsite but closes at 5 pm. Not much eatery...

We stayed in 506 and the room was spacious, clean, modern and functional. Very quiet and we slept really well! Kitchen facilities here small but more than adequate. Really good location, short walk into town, right next to the botanical gardens. Staff friendly and helpful. Wifi $5 for 24 hours but really good wifi which is hard to come across...

This would have to be the best value hostel in new Zealand. The rooms are large and airy, bathrooms a good size and plenty of them on each floor. The kitchen gets a little crowded and in fact, I did not prepare any meals here. Adequate car park space at the premises is included, a big bonus! The communal spaces...

Great location, you can be in the botanical gardens in seconds. Clean rooms with plenty of bathrooms and good kitchen space. Disappointed to be charged for both wifi and the gym. However gym is good once you have paid for it!

The Hostel itself is nice and tidy however the wifi is useless. They charge $5 to access it and it struggles to load anything. Other hostels have free wifi and if I knew it wouldn't work I would have probably booked somewhere else.

The YMCA hostel is in a really good location, close to the museum and Christchurch Botanic Gardens. Check in was friendly, professional and efficient. The staff were lovely. The dorm room I stayed in had two bunk beds in a decent sized room, with plenty of space to move around and store your luggage. (Xbase or Nomads would have squeezed...

Toilet clean and spacious. Kitchen at the first floor was small but well equipped. Free car park and plenty of them. No free wifi Provide hot clean water every...

In Dec 2016 I stayed one night in the deluxe room at YMCA Christchurch. The room and ensuite bathroom were sparkling clean, and well appointed. The TV had only a couple of channels, but who comes to New Zealand to watch TV?! WiFi is NZD 5 extra. The room had a view, albeit of the stormy night I had the...

we had a deluxe room with ensuite, the room itself was ok, was clean and tidy, we couldnt look out the window as there was scaffoldig and red mesh stuff wrapped around. was kept awake at night by very rowdy guests talking and laughing really loudly, maybe because our room was close to the communal lounge area on that floor....

Hotel staff were friendly and check in was smooth. The lobby looks great and seems quite self-sufficient as there is a restaurant and cafe available. Rooms seem abit old but was pretty alright. Clean and quite well-maintained. Location is great as it is near the Botanic Gardens and walking distance to Re:Start Mall. Parking lots are available at no charge....
