I stayed just one night at this cosy B&B in a quiet section of Christchurch. The hosts are very friendly and unobtrusive, in fact I hardly saw them at all except at check-in and breakfast. The room was a good size, and comfortable, as was the bed--my only quibble is with the pillows, which were a lot softer than I...

We stayed two nights and found this cosy B&B to be just right. The host Steve made us feel welcome and even drove us to the train station to catch the Transalpine express. What a great guy. Breakfast was cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, juice and tea, which was nice. The room was fine and suited our needs. It was a...

Quite good place to stay. had really nice chat during the breakfast and got to know new things about NZ. A bit far from city center if you walk, but is really easy to get by car. In general is quite ok, but I would say it is a bit overpriced for what you get.

Book this B&B last minute in Christchurch and loving the unique experience. Very lowkey relax older heritage buildings with the touch of local designer Chet. Our room come with private bathroom overlooking the garden courtyard. Short walk to local restaurants and cafe, such a handy location. The owner and staff are very friendly and hospitable. Place is clean and nicely decorated. Made me feel like home... Even though I arrived late, I had no problem getting into the room, as instructions were clear, and I could let myself in. Free parking is always nice in a city.

After lots of pre-trip research we decided on Designer Cottage for our Christchurch accommodation. Definitely not disappointed - great location and friendly welcome with great recommendations for dining options and things to see in Christchurch. Good room which was very clean and well appointed with ensuite (although the ensuite was very small). Continental breakfast was also good along with friendly...

What stood out the most for us in this stylish, low-key, well-located b&b was the personal knowledge of Christchurch that the owner, Chet, took pleasure in conveying to his guests. Shortly after arrival, he sat us down in the lovely separate breakfast building and gave us a copy of a map on which he had drawn up numerous recommendations for...

Thank you to Chad for being such a wonderful host. The location is perfect for touring Christchurch then staying in a quiet, secure location. We enjoyed no keys with coded access to our door and the front door. Breakfast was great as well. We highly recommend staying here.

We stayed a Designer Cottage for 2 nights in January 2015 and had the best sleep of our trip to New Zealand. Our ensuite room was so cosy, clean and Quiet. Breakfast was all we needed and to be able to chat with the other guests was a unique experience for us. I don't think we will stay in a...

We had a very enjoyable stay at Designer Cottage, and meeting the charming hosts, Steve and Chet. Steve greeted us warmly upon arrival, providing us with detailed maps of nearby restaurants and attractions, and gave us a nice tour of the B&B. We stayed in the Yellow Room, which was tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The B&B is conveniently located...
