Stayed their twice as we criss crossed the South Island with Steam Incorporated's Southland Steam Tour. The manager/hostess had remembered all our milk choices and loaded the fridges ready for our arrival which was a nice touch. Pretty modern units with all the mod cons, I was next to the main road but once doors were shut had no problems...

An EZ 10 minute walk from Addington Railway Station; 3 minute walk to the Court Theatre; 5 minute walk to Addington Coffee Co-Op for your morning buzz and treats (breakfast is awesome); 10 minute walk to Hagley Park. Get the picture, perfect location to walk anywhere and everywhere in Christchurch. Jessica, the always lovely manager, is very attentive to this...

We spent a comfortable two nights at the motel. The bed was good, the shower hot and the free shuttle to the station meant we had an easy time making the 6:40am train. A good choice of restaurants just round the corner for an evening meal and an easy walk to bus stop to get into the city.

We were disappointed with our selection of this motel, the room was very small and very basic. Friendly hosts who had the room very clean. Regulating the water temp in the showers was an issue, there was unlimited hot water though. Unfortunately we were awoken at 4.30am by traffic noise, the motel is on a busy road.

I chose this motel as it was close to Christchurch Railway Station. If you are a keen walker it is also a reasonable 30 minute walk from the CBD. First day we took the bus, one price regardless of distance and no one way fares but we opted walk day 2. The only down side was the rather weird shower...

If you are looking for a clean, comfortable motel for an overnight stay before or after travelling on the train (e.g. the TranzAlpine) then this one fits the bill. Friendly owner who runs a shuttle to the train station for the TranzAlpine. There is a bit of road noise however and it is out of central Christchurch so I wouldn't...

Chose to stay here because it was walking distance to the arena for a rock concert. Arrived on a freezing rainy night we were a family of 4 who stayed in the 2 bedroom unit. It was small and perfect for one night- water pressure in the shower is very low. Service is what makes this place special- very friendly...

My sister and I stayed here before going on the Tranz Alpine Rail and again on our return. We were taken to and picked up from the station. Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation. We were able to leave our suitcases here overnight and just take what we needed for our overnight stay in Greymouth.

Super friendly staff and great place but noise from other rooms was not great. We heard pumps for jacuzzi bath coming from other rooms late at night and in the early morning. It seems there is very little sound insulation as we heard other guests moving around too.

We couldn't have asked for a friendlier host during our stay in Christchurch. We went out for a few hours on chilly afternoon. Coming back I had been wondering how long it would take to warm our room up as I was feeling rather cold. I didn't have to worry as the curtains had been closed and the heater turned...
