About
Description
ST LEONARD’S VINEYARD COTTAGES is set on 4.5 acres, with five self-contained boutique cottages positioned around the semi-rural property. The original farm homestead (circa 1856) is home to your hosts - Marcus More and Michele - and is an excellent example of early NZ colonial architecture. The house is situated in the hub of this private setting with century-old walnut, gum and elm trees. The charming cottages are themed around the old farm buildings, offering their own unique view of mountains, vines or gardens, and are privately located around the property. They are all fully self-contained and self-catering. Make the most of your idyllic surroundings by exploring the grounds with its picturesque gardens and majestic trees. Near the lemon grove you will find sheep alpaca and chickens (all prepared to become your new best friend for a handful of food) plus a couple of very shy deer. Thank you for your kind words and taking your special time to review our property. We loved having you to stay and are so happy you enjoyed your first stop in New Zealand in "The Cottage" at St Leonards. The Orange and Lemons are still fruiting and the hens are laying loads of eggs, we also have a couple of baby chicks born this week and more due on Christmas Day. Hope all is well with you both in Georgia, we would love to have you back to stay any time. Maybe we can go grocery shopping again! All the very best for Xmas and have a happy new year.

I've read reviews of past travelers staying at the cottages and using the provided bikes to visit vineyards/winerys. I was curious how far of a bike ride is it from the cottages to visit other vineyards? Thank you!
The Wither Hills Cellar door is about 2 and a half Kms Cloudy Bay, Alan Scott and Moa Brewery are about 3kms Rock Ferry about 2 Kms There are many others you can visit, about 20km round trip. An easy way is to book a wine tour by van...great fun and great value. regards.

Hello, is is maurine treacy, fellow kiwi. We will be visiting your region sometime in the first three weeks of February. There will be three couples and I think it will be fun to stay for a couple of nights. What accommodations will you have available. I know you,may not be able to commit without dates but just checking in. Also what kind of price range do you have. We would be all happy to stay in one accommodation as long as there are two or more bathrooms. Thanks.
Hello Treacy, Thank you for your enquiry. St Leonards Vineyard Cottages has range of cottages that all have different characters located amongst the vineyards of Wither Hills and Mount Riley. The largest being The Woolshed, very rustic and spacious with 2 bedrooms, 2 separate toilets and 1 bathroom. The Shearers Quaters is close by and would be suitable for 1 couple. All cottages have outside BBQ's so great for socialising in groups. Our Web site shows pictures of all the cottages with rates and availability. (Feb is filling up fast) We look forward to your booking. Kind regards Michele & Marcus
