We had a wonderful time at the Straw Lodge! Trudy and Barry were the most amazing hosts and thought of everything including Barry taking his vintage Morris out of storage to drive us to their favorite restaurant (my wife's first car many years ago was a Morris so it was very nostalgic). Our room was very well appointed and the...

Our hosts Trudy and Brian provided such a warm welcome on our arrival. A complimentary bottle of their wine, and homemade treats accompanied a myriad of suggestions for ways to further enjoy our time in the Marlborough region. Our room, separate from their house, overlooked the vineyards and had its own garden courtyard. The queen room was well appointed to...

Trudy and Barry are great hosts. Contacted us in advance to offer restaurant reservations, warm greeting upon arrival. The breakfast is served with opulent choice of home made lemon curds and jams. Flaky croissants. Bacon crisp, eggs cooked perfectly. Wonderful view from the room and the breakfast room was vineyards with mountain range in the background. Amenities include tasty bottle...

We stayed for only one night - and wished we'd had more nights here. This is a seriously special place! I don't think the photos really do it justice. It's beautiful being right there on the vineyard, and the comfortable little retreat has it's own private garden area and view. But it was the hosts that were truly outstanding (Trudy...

Very nice host and warmest welcome for us. The property is right at the edge of vineyard and from the front of your room you can see and touch the vines. As we're on honeymoon, Trudy gave us the most special memorable part of the trip. Thank you so much and we've enjoy our stay. Wish we could stay longer.

Location was great, rooms were spacious and clean. They helped us find spots for dinner and the breakfasts were amazing. Homemade croissants with a lovely view of the vineyard. There were even bikes available to cruise around on.

We spent three nights at Straw Lodge and thought it was the perfect choice for our stay in Marlborough. The room was comfortable, and we enjoyed the views of the vineyards. Trudy and Barry were wonderful hosts, sharing information about the area and even driving us to dinner two nights. Because we were due to get to Straw Lodge fairly...

The atmosphere of this lodge is just delightful. I truly recognized the accommodation is created by the hosts and their personality this time. Trudy is very thoughtful and kind to guests, and her breakfast was very tasty! The restaurant they introduced was wonderful ,too. The memory of the lodge in vineyards is unforgettable. We really want to visit again. Highly...
