Home from home - comfortable rooms, and an engaging, informative and interesting host..what more could you want? Breakfasts aren't bad either! And there's the books.... A further joy is the ability to easily walk into the city centre of this compact capital. Recommended.

Spent two nights here and loved it. Very comfortable and convenient to downtown Wellington with the bus stopping right outside. A delicious breakfast and Jane was a marvelous hostess, very friendly and full of good ideas for places to visit, eat, etc.

This B&B is situated in an elevated position, from which the centre of Wellington is easily accessible on foot. Our room was at first floor level and was clean, comfortable and fairly spacious with a selection of teas and coffee provided. Our ensuite bathroom felt slightly cramped and old-fashioned, but was perfectly adequate. The hostess, Jane, is evidently an accomplished...

We arrived on the inter island ferry from Picton and had a large camper van which we were able to park in the drive. The area is old Wellington & the house was just as I had expected. Full of books and lived in!! Jane was there when we arrived and was very welcoming made us a lovely cup of...

This is a very quaint B&B ideally located for the city. The rooms are comfortably furnished but the overriding memory will be Jane, who apart from running the house is also an accomplished author. Jane was very welcoming, our one regret being that we only spent a short time with her given that we only stayed one night as the...

This B&B is located right on the edge of the city right next to great hikes and only a 15 minute walk into the center of he city. Spacious and nice rooms with a great breakfast in the morning. Jane is a great host and offers up lots of suggestions.

The property is dark, smells musty and needs updating. Didn't find anything quirky about the dust and the stained bathroom with previous guests' hair in drainage. Cluttered and a bit grim. Question the hygiene in the kitchen. Not a good experience for us.

My husband, 9-year old daughter and I stayed here two nights. The location was good because it was walking distance to Te Papa, the cable car and many restaurants. It is also right next to the hike up to Mt. Victoria, which is a great hike and amazing view, and windy! The host, Jane, was very nice told us a...

We choose B&Bs in our travels and have had some good experiences on three continents. This was among the best. Booklovers is comfortable but has nothing outstanding except for Jane, the host. It was always clean and it is convenient. Discussions with Jane about her writing and books in her many bookshelves were too short only because we'd have loved...

Old, dirty (the bath was full of death insects!)... The name sounds romantic and avocative but the reality stinks! (literally: It smells mildew and moisture.). The hosttest is nice but I won't recommend the place to anybody... Luckily, it was just one night.
