The hotel staff were so friendly and nice! We stayed just one night here and they asked us if it was our honeymoon and upgraded us to a nicer room that was so beautiful! Huge big bed that was so comfortable and my partner loved the mini bar!

As return guests we knew the hotel had been refurbished and was completely earthquake proofed - and we weren't let down on anything. New guests have to realise this is a small boutique hotel, very intimate in the lobby and the dining room, with lovely spacious bedrooms, no vast tiled lobbies or eating places within here. If you don't try...

We returned to New Zealand for our second time in as many years. After a week at a friends on the South Island we returned this time to Wellington via ferry and for another stay at the Bolton. We were greeted like old friends and got the promised king suite booked for 4 nights. There was some confusion at the...

The Bolton is a very stylish, clean, well run hotel. Our room was a very good size, with a great bed and very nice bathroom. Nice views on the west side to the hills and across the old cemetery, though they do cop a fierce afternoon sun. Front desk service was very good, with helpful advice on managing the street...

I cannot recommend this hotel. While I can see that it has the potential to be a really great place to stay, it soundly misses the mark in some key areas: the air system and safety. Both are important problems, however, the most troubling issue is their reluctant, disingenuous and unprincipled way of dealing with problems. The air conditioning system,...

Thank you for you review, however it is necessary to correct some errors in your review. The main point I do want to make is the safety issue which we take exception to. The tripping of the power was due to multiple chargers and adaptors being used in the room which tripped the cut out in the distribution board. The...

Check in was pleasant and location is by the parliament in a quiet area on weekends. The room was clean and functional but that was about it. Minimal supplies of coffee for plunger means one cup each and you're done. Maintenance and housekeeping need to get onto thee tasks. Loose tiles in bathroom, shower door that sits slightly open so...

Great hotel. Our only disappointment was that we only had one night there. Spacious suite with a well appointed kitchen. Great location: about 5 min walk from harbor walk area, good restaurants and botanic gardens.

I stayed two nights here with a friend and we (I) decided to pay extra to have the suite with the bath as a treat! The bath was terrible. The anti flood hole in the side was way too low so the bath would only be half full by the time you got in it, a complete waste of time...

The hotel and staff are great, unfortunately room 1309 which is beside the lift had very thin walls and we could hear doors banging and neighbours talking early hours of the morning. We have stayed before and not had this issue. Maybe the room is the issue?
