The place stinks of cigarette smoke and the blokes wander the corridors aimlessly with their towels trying to find a decent place to shower or poop. Unfortunately the men are the losers in this game. The ladies bathroom was OK and one toilet seemed alright. You can wash your clothes for only $2! :) Staff was very friendly and accommodating....

My wife booked this, as there was nowhere else to stay in Wellington at a reasonable price (more on this at the end). After making the booking I read a bunch of reviews and thought OMG, what has she let us in for. But, I have to say that in spite of the poor reviews, it bettered my low expectations....

We had to book this place at the last minuet due to urgent travel. We had average expectations because we have stayed at back-packer style hostels before. This place is by far the worst backpackers we have stayed at and I would really emphasise that we have stayed at backpackers that look like hotels compared to this place. On arrival...

This hostel is only $15 a night if you are a BBH member, so I'm not sure what all these other reviewers really expected!! This hostel is not going to be the cleanest place you ever lived, and the kitchen and bathrooms are not the nicest - however, it is perfectly okay for a short stay. I was expecting a...

I was looking for long term accommodation in Wellington back in 2011. This place kept coming up on the Trade Me website, and the pictures made it look nice. I called in to check it out. The receptionist gave me some information, then handed me two key cards, pointed out on a map of the building where the rooms were,...

Where do I start? I should of know it was going to be bad being cheaper than everyone else! But I'm travelling on a budget so I went ahead and booked it anyway. Originally I booked a twin room as it's cheaper than a double, as I figured my partner and I could push the beds together, but when I...

Myself and a friend stayed here for 2 nights, obviously choosing it because it is the cheapest place in Wellington. We soon realised why it was cheaper than everywhere else. To put it bluntly it is just disgusting. We weren't off to a good start when the extremely unfriendly lady on reception told us we had to move our car...

Me and my friend have now been travelling for 4 months and this is by far the worst hostel we have ever stay in. As soon as we entered the doors i knew it would be bad, it was dirty, the carpets were thread bare are dangerous, the mirrors had felt tip pen writing on them. the windows had mould....

If you are looking for a place to stay and rest while you are travelling or something, this is not the right place. But if you are looking for a nasty, noisy and a place to have sex at 3 am, this is the place! We booked 2 nights for this place and we decided to go after the first...
