Halswell Lodge is located right downtown Wellington, within walking distance to Te Papa Museum, the waterfront walk, and good restaurants. The staff was friendly and nice. Our room was situated in the back of the complex in the brick house. Our room was the Luxury King Spa. It was large, airy, faced west and was very quiet. The bathroom had...

A great place to stay on a budget right in the city. Not good for people with wheel chairs or people who have trouble walking as the stair case is quite steep, you could walk up the drive way around the back but again it's quite steep. The room was small but plenty of room for Mum & I. The...

Thanks for taking time to review and sharing your thoughts. We can assure all guests our beds are updated often. As for our location we agree it is just fantastic to explore and take in all this fabulous city has to offer. Hope to see you again.

Old hotel, but clean, cheap, with a safe parking lot. Nice receptionist, helpful and welcoming. Close to bars and restaurants, close to port where you embark. It's a good value for one night rest before going south.

Yes the location to Wellingtons attractions is great and a myriad of restaurants and bars just down the road make Halswell Lodge ideal for a short or extended stay. Thanks for taking time to review. Hope to see you again.

Older property so most rooms are either small or teensy. But #12 at the front of the building is large and has a complete kitchen and a small balcony. Parking is up a really steep hill that's scary the first time you do it! About 4 blocks to TePapa museum so easily walkable.

Room 12 is the great choice for budget travelers as it has been very popular and get booked out quickly. Once again Halswell Lodge's wonderful location and access to all Wellington has to offer is highlighted. The car parking is a bonus in a city that is designed to be walked. Thanks for taking time to share.

Room was Very small. The top mattress overlapped the base of the bed. The bathroom door couldn't close properly and kept getting stuck. Over priced for the smallest room ive Ever seen!!Never going back there again. 👎👎

We are so disappointed the guest felt unfairly treated and to receive such comments. Halswell Lodge has been commited to continuously upgrade, while this process is still underway there may have been some areas that has not meet guest's expectation. It has been gratifying to note all guests have been understanding of the fact. We can assure all guests our...

We had a two bedroom apartment for our last two nights in NZ. Easy to find and with parking the location is great and the price is right. A comfortable stay, the apartment had everything we needed, not stylish or charming but well equipped with all the basics and quiet at night. Everything we wanted to see and do was...

My family and I were in the 2 bedroom unit for a few nights and we enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal, as we were able to walk everywhere - Te Papa is only 10 minutes away, plus there is a supermarket nearby. This also meant that we didn't have to take our car anywhere. The staff were very...

It is ok to stay one night. Best thing about it is the free parking! You have a tiny room, old fashioned bath, no sound reduction in the walls to the next room but you are next to center, that also counts! Reception is perfectly friendly and helpfulness! !!

The Halswell Lodge is strategically sited on Kent Terrace with Courtney Places Bars, Theaters and Restaurants within easy walking distance. Also on the bus route to the Airport made it even more convenient. We were in Wellington for a birthday party and needed cheap digs. The Hallswell was on Booking.com and we reserved a room for the night for $125.00....

This is very much a low-end budget offering, and the photos do not remotely match up with the units that we ended up in. Two rooms were booked, but upon check-in, only one room was offered. For the second night, our second room was 're-discovered'. The cost of the second room was not charged for the first night of our...
