Gourmet Stay is great value for money and as other reviewers have mentioned it is in a great location. I was there for a conference at Te Papa which is an easy 10 minute walk. It is close to great eating places in Cuba Street and Courtney place. The room I had in the annex was comfortable and clean. It...

We enjoyed our 2-night stay because of the comfortable room, friendly and helpful staff and excellent location. It was a short walk to restaurants, the Dominion War Memorial and Museum, and to the Art Gallery, Waterfront and Lambton Quay.

Great location, room was super clean and tidy - modern fittings etc. I originally booked a queen with separate bathroom however upon arrival was advised that I had been upgraded. I got a queen with a private bathroom and it was a lovely surprise! I was also offered complimentary breakfast on both days during my stay for no extra cost....

Gourmet Stay is easy to find, brilliantly located and good value for money. Cuba St is nearby and the rest of town easily accessible on foot. The room was clean and warm, the beds comfortable. The continental breakfast provided good variety and excellent Bircher. The staff (Holly) was friendly and welcoming. The only things missing were bedside lamps (Room 7).

I stayed in a ground floor room with kitchenette, dining table, lounge, en suite. One queen and one single bed in the sleeping area. Quite cosy, though I needed an extra blanket. Fortunately as only using one bed I was able to pinch the quilt from the other bed, as there were no spare blankets in the room. The lack...

I use tripadvisor to plan all my trips and I think this is probably the first time I've been left disappointed. It's not that bad per se, just decidedly average, but it's overall score, and rank, is very surprising - particularly considering the price. The room smelt damp and musty when we arrived. The lock on the door didn't work...

Very nice and helpful staff. Bed comfortable, room clean, tidy and modern. I guess it is the age of the building but noise from the floor above was not ideal. Not noisy people it is just you could hear them walking around and talking. Also, the fridge in the room was noisy but I had nothing in it so just...

Lovely warm service at this character-rich small but perfectly formed hotel located in a quiet and convenient backstreet of Wellington's main city streets. Our room was clean, spacious, light-filled and had everything we needed. Breakfast was yum, good coffee, cosy enough to feel like fellow guests are not strangers. Definitely my new go-to for Wellington accommodation!

A surprise for our family of 5, a unique, comfortable place with friendly staff. It is an advocate for the neighborhood and encourages exploring by offering advice on nearby host spots. It is an easy walk to the waterfront and museum, restaurants and other attractions.
