We stayed at Wairakei Resort in Taupo during Christmas- New years break. The resort was beautiful with small park and trampolines for the kids and 2 heated thermal pools and we got a good rate for 2 nights. But unfortunately, the bathrooms were too old that they had some funny smell. The thing I hated about the place was the...

Nice rooms, friendly staff and clean facilities. Stayed there for relaxing weekend away. A bit away from the town but everything there that you need. Lots of parking. And reasonably priced too :-) Definitely will come back.

Traveling from Lake Tarawera to Wellington I wanted to break the long drive and also have time to see some geothermal areas an the Huka Falls. The Wairakei Report Hotel offered the right place at the right price. I wasn't expecting a great deal but what we got was really lovely. A super room with french doors opening onto a...

Stayed last night at Wairakei Resort. Virtually fully booked but, despite being busy, the meals we chose at the Pavillion Restaurant were excellent! Our waitress, Rebecca, was tops. Breakfast this morning was of the same excellent standard as previous visits.

We had a 5 day booking in a King Room on the ground floor of Block7, this looked out onto the garden pond area (no unpleasant odours as reported by previous guests). Our stay was part during the Wanderlust yoga festival so all the rooms were booked out. At $180 per night, things could be better considering it s 4...

After sleeping in tents for a number of nights we stopped here. Enjoyed the pool. Ate at the restaurant for dinner and enjoyed a room service dessert. The beds were comfortable Shower over the bath was fine and had great water pressure We found the staff friendly and the place clean and tidy. Will stay again

I was curious after last staying here 43yrs ago if it was as prestigious now. A bit out dated and tired but overall comfortable with all required facilities at a good price. Would be good for large groups, a wide range of activities available.

I don't think they have changed anything in 20 yrs. The carpet is threadbare in places, so are the dinning room chairs, and the A/C unit in the rooms did nothing but make noise. Having said all that, I would stay here again. The rooms updated, clean (with nice linen) and a decent size. We had a small balcony and...

We stayed here for two nights and had a lovely suite in the main building, with separate kitchen/dining/comfy sofa and a nice bathroom. The rooms were clean, the bed comfortable and the air conditioning worked well even though it was hot outside and the sun was beating on our windows. We were part of a much larger group and a...
