We only had the address for this stop but their website gave good detailed instructions on how to find it, as it is a few kilometres outside Taupo. It is situated on a hill with commanding views of the lake and Taupo itself. We pulled up and the welcome could not have been more pleasant. What a lovely house /...

This is a purpose built B&B and what a place it is. The house is stunning with amazing terrace, lounge and breakfast room overlooking the lake. We could lie in bed and see across the lake through a huge picture window. We had a good bathroom, dressing area and a shared kitchen with tea, coffee etc free to help yourself....

Our favourite stop on our recent trip to NZ. A luxurious up market B&B a couple of miles outside Taupo in Acacia Bay with views of the lake and nearby Mt Tauhara to die for. Our room was superb and we enjoyed excellent attentive service from the friendly owners, Becky and Rob. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything the town...

We had a very wonderful stay! The hosts were very friendly and welcoming, breakfasts were delicious and very filling, and our room was very comfortable. The view was the best part! We sat on the patio both evenings and enjoyed the beautiful lake view while enjoying some drinks and snacks. We didn't want to leave! Also, we got up early...

We spent two nights here. The view from the bedroom was lovely but such a shame you had to shut it out to afford yourself some privacy whilst sleeping as room also looked out onto main driveway. Becci was a very friendly host and we wish her well with her new venture.

The location and facilities offered by Becky at Tauhara Sunrise Lodge are truly first class. The welcome, the room and facilities on offer are truly first class and beyond. Our room had fantastic lake views and the shared kitchen facilities are amazing. You are also most welcome to spend time upstairs in a wonderful lounge area that is extremely welcoming...

Overall a nice looking property however several little, but important, things meant it didn't deliver the promised luxury experience: no spare toilet roll, cold damp-feeling bed with uncomfortably heavy decorative cover (fortunately the electric blanket warmed the bed up eventually), and too many 'personal' items in the guest kitchen/dining area. And most importantly a pretty ungenerous, and not particularly pleasant,...

Candsnz, We are very sorry that you felt our standards were not high enough during your stay with us. Becky and I have owned and operated Tauhara Sunrise for 15 years. In that time, we have received one other slightly negative review from some people who complained that we did not make our own fresh squeezed orange juice, so of...

A very warm and welcoming B&B - we particularly enjoyed the wine and nibbles with our hosts and fellow travellers. A very comfortable room with excellent amenities. A quiet location with great views of Lake Taupo.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which is separate from the main house. It is a beautifully appointed room, with all amenities and a spa bath. The host, Becky, was perfect: attentive, interesting, and knowledgeable. She cooked lovely breakfasts, and her company was also great. Thank you Becky for your hospitality and making our stay in Taupo memorable.
