A wonderful B&B just out of Taupo. Gilly and Brian are great hosts, we and our friends arrived late St Patrick's Day afternoon after a long drive. We spent a delightful hour having a drink with our hosts, Gilly managed to get us reservations in the restaurant we wanted. Huge rooms, very clean, every amenity we might need. Gilly's breakfast...

Once again we had the opportunity to stay at this amazing B & B just outside of Lake Taupo. The owners Gilly and Brian are two of the most wonderful hosts you could hope for. The place is always immaculate and the specially prepared breakfasts are out of this world. We particularly enjoyed our time just sitting and sharing stories....

It is always a treat to have guests return again and especially when they tell us that their experience was just as good second time around. Thank you Shirley & Barry and we look forward to keeping in touch and sharing more stories.

A 'boutique' hotel just out of the town. The owners Gilly and Brian are the perfect hosts. Every evening at sundown they host drinks for half an hour or so. The hotel consists of four guest bedrooms. All overlooking the gardens and hills. Gilly cooks lots of little treats during the day for her guests to have in their room,...

Wow. I had booked the Pillars for my wife, myself, and another couple based on the very positive TripAdvisor reviews. While I arrived with high expectations, they were definitely exceeded. Everything about this wonderful B&B was spectacular. The grounds are immaculately groomed and stunningly beautiful. The house and the guest rooms are modern and well appointed. The breakfasts were complete...

Gilly and Brian have a beautiful home with lovely grounds just outside of Taupo. Wonderful breakfasts in the morning, and wine in the evening. They were very helpful with making dinner recommendations and bookings in the Taupo area. If you are using a Garmin (yours or your rental), it may not find their address, so have the Pillars' phone number...

Thank you scott, no problem to give you directions to our place. Caroline Drive or Bonshaw Park may show up on the GPS device as an alternative, depends on the model you have with the car. It was a pleasure to host you and glad you enjoyed your stay.

We were made very welcome by Gilly with tea and cake on arrival at this lovely country manor. Good advice on what to do locally, very nice, comfortable room (Tauhara suite). Interesting discussions over excellent breakfasts with Gilly and Brian (and the other guests). A very pleasant, relaxing experience. Thank you both very much. P & T

Travelled around North Island NZ.stayed in a variety of hotels/motels.This was simply the best. From start to finish luxury 5+star treatment. Short drive to Taupo. Pillars benefits from being slightly off the beaten track. Hosts very attentive providing loads of information on what to do locally. Lovely garden.Only regret could not stay longer definitely will return.

We chose to stay here a couple miles out of Taupo after wonderful stay 2 years ago. We found the welcome and service equally outstanding and the facilities and room better than ever. This an ideal base for visiting the town surrounding area or just somewhere totally relaxing to chill.
