First impressions of the reception area was that this was a nice modern place.. check in was ok although the receptionist was a little short. Our double room had a musty stench that matched how old and worn the furniture and room looked. The shared bathroom seemed to be cleaned each day but for some reason old mouldy hand towels...

Place has a fairly cool vibe at first, but wasn't thoriughly impressed with the pool or rooms. I had a top bunk, with a ladder which was fairly difficult to go down on as it only had one ''handlebar'' on top, so both times I used it I almost fell. The kitchen was fairly big and there's a bar as...

I stayed here with my partner for 3 nights and it was passable at best. The bedroom was small, dark and old. The walls are thin and we could hear every footstep taken in the room above. The kitchen facilities were okay but there wasn't enough cutlery or tea towels. There is no free wifi which was a joke. It's...

We arrived in December 2016 too stay for one night. From the outside everything looks quite nice, but once you enter a room everything is different. Rooms are shabby, prison-like, beds mainly consist of two piled mattresses (next morning my back was broken). The common bathrooms are crowded, dirty and the toilets were clogged. The kitchen is dirty too, so...

The place is ok, however even for a Backpackers the are better places in Rotorua for a similar price. We stayed for 1 night in November 2016, we had a twin room on the bottom floor of the lodge. The room was big enough for two single beds and a chair. There wasn't even room to walk between the beds!...

Room was a neat but sad looking chalet in desperate need of love and renovation. The beds were very comfortable. Ensuite was old, leaky and mouldy. OMG the kitchen was disgusting. The fridge was dirty and not cold enough. Not enough cutlery-we had to tag team with other families and there was not that mny people. Toaster kept shorting out....

Thanks for your feedback. I have stocked up the kitchen with new cutlery, bowls, fry pans, plates, tea towels and so on. I was actually on regarding your Soy Milk and yes we had run out the day before - I offered you almond milk, which you seemed happy with at the time. We are an accommodation property and so...

So I will start with the good... Clean sheets? Appears so. Lockable door? Yup. Friendly staff? Sure. That's about where it ends...if you want a good nights sleep this is not the place for you. Cars coming and going all night, thin walls, Loud guests...dirty bathrooms, feels like a bad episode of breaking bad... The photos make it look amazing......

This is easily the worst hostel I've stayed at in New Zealand so far. The facilities are disgusting and the photos of the place are not accurate to what you see when you arrive whatsoever. The bathrooms look like a public pool changing room facility and are constantly dirty, the kitchen has no utensils, no dishwashing soap and food and...
