After a long over night flight and a busy morning we checked into Mokoia Downs Estate in the early afternoon for a couple nights. We were pleasantly met by Teresa and Mick and offered some afternoon tea and freshly made carrot cake (yum!) Our hosts were most gracious as they gave us a tour of the grounds and recommendations of...

My husband and I stayed with Mick and Teresa in November, and we were so lucky to have scheduled our stay there! Due to an unfortunate turn of events, I had developed a kidney infection upon arriving in New Zealand. Mick and Teresa were kind enough to let us use all of their facilities to help me recover and finally...

My husband and I stayed with Mick and Teresa for the last two days of our New Zealand stay last week. It was the perfect end of an enchanting trip on a rolling green country estate with sheep, donkeys, a miniature horse and a lamb to boot! However, Mick and Teresa with their engaging repartee, their sly humor, exemplary breakfasts...

Visited Mokoia Downs with mum last week and I must say we made the perfect choice of staying with Mick and Teresa. Too bad it was only for two nights and I regretted planning so many activities out in the city during the day, when it would be a better option to stay in and enjoy the lush surrounding and...

Teresa and Mick treat people like close family, we sat in their beautiful conservatory on arrival and had coffee and delicious homemade carrot cake while Teresa told us all about the animals and why they both love Mokoia, which is obvious. It is a haven, tucked down a long driveway, with only birds and the odd donkey bray to be...

Mick & Teresa... These are by far the most genuine, gracious hosts you will come across, quite possibly, anywhere in the world. Sit for a welcome drink at House lounge, where the bartender / brewer / mixologist is none other than Mick himself. The vast array of gourmet liqueurs are distilled in his garage from fruit and ingredients from the...

Breakfast was delicious, the dining area was beautiful, while having our breakfast we can looked outside the farm view with the cute animals. Our hosts Mick and Teresa received us with home-baked cakes and coffee, and were very friendly. Our room was very comfortable and clean. Everybody staying at the B&B ended up having 5 pm drinks together, and most of us liked the atmosphere so much that we had no need to go out for dinner! The fact that the weather was...

Not only did we consider this to be a flawless five star B&B but you instantly feel that your hosts, Mick and Teresa, are truly not working. Rather, they thoroughly enjoy seeing you happy. From Mick's homemade liquors to Teresa's barnyard animals and collecting eggs for breakfast, their day is a true vacation for both them and all of those...
