Exceptional stay at this beautiful lodge. Our hosts were perfect and provided everything we could possibly need. Cath and Simon - thank you for all you did for us! The location was lovely and the food was delicious. What a perfect way to begin our 3 week visit in NZ. One of our favorite stops!

"Wildwood" was a favorite B & B for us on our trip. Cath and Simon were such gracious host and welcomed us with opened arms. Our meals where 5-star. We were there for 3 nights and had one dinner planned in town. After our first dinner we asked Cath if we could cancel our dinner and have her cook for...

We have travelled a lot and stayed at some very special places - however having just stayed at the lodge this is clearly gone to the top of the list of the wonderful places we have stayed at. From the minute we pulled into the driveway, the hospitality, thoughtfulness, help in making our stay was there. We had booked the...

My husband and I stayed at Wildwood for 3 nights for our honeymoon. The hosts were so wonderfully hospitable and made our stay so relaxing. Breakfast and dinner were plentiful and home-cooked, and the pre-dinner drinks were also great :). We stayed in the guest house, but both the main house and the guest house have wonderful, peaceful views of...

We had a wonderful three days here to celebrate our birthdays. My husband had two days of excellent guided fishing experiencing different rivers and locations with Simon. I had the most relaxing stay, catching my breath from a busy year. The house and grounds are simply lovely, and Simon and Cath are so hospitable. The food and wine at dinner...

Wildwood Lodge is a truly luxurious Bed and Breakfast lodge and I LOVED it!! The main house is elegantly decorated yet homely and very comfortable. The standalone studio lodge is very spacious, offers privacy from the main house and has a beautiful view down the lake, which can be seen throughout the lodge, even from the bed. Cath and Simon...

Wildwood Lodge is a lovely house on the edge of Lake Rotoehu. The house is beautifully and comfortably furnished and the grounds (and views) are lovely. Our sleeping room had lake views and was well-appointed and very comfortable, including a large baggage room. No detail was overlooked, including fresh flowers in the bathroom. The owners, Cath and Simon, are delightful....

We were referred to Wildwood Lodge in Rotorua by our travel agent because we had a desire to do some fly-fishing. Simon, the owner of this fine property, is an excellent fishing guide and I can attest that he will exceed any expectation that you may have of Fly-fishing New Zealand. He is well equipped to outfit any angler with...

Cath and Simon have a fabulous property, and their home is your home while in Rotorua. The rooms are expansive, the bed so comfortable, the view amazing, and the breakfasts and dinners extraordinary and more than plentiful. Cath and Simon offered suggestions on what to do, and are the most gracious and helpful hosts who cannot seem to do enough...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Wildwood is a lake edge property on the shores of Lake Rotoehu, and is set on over five acres of landscaped grounds with almost two hundred meters of private lake frontage, available only to guests. No other houses can be seen from anywhere on the entire estate, and all accommodation options have private balconies overlooking the lake and Hinehopu cliffs. Suites are 400sq ft and the guest house is 700sq ft, and all have baggage and dressing rooms, well appointed en suite bathrooms and oversize walk in showers. Wildwood offers a fully inclusive tariff with breakfast, dinner, wines and Wifi included in the rate, but a B&B option is available if preferred. Wildwood is situated a little out of town and away from the sulphur smells of the city. It is a 15 minute drive from the airport for those arriving by air, and we have on site helipad and float plane docking facilities. ... more   less
