I really enjoyed my stay at this backpackers. The location is close to everything. The staff were very helpful and pointed out all the nearby attractions and facilities. I was in a female dorm, and the beds were so comfortable! The hotel put a lot of effort in to keeping it clean, tidy and warm. The only negative thing I...

Simply a great place. Nice clean rooms and facilities, even baths! Huge comfy bed and good sized room. No problem with noise or anything, slept very well here. (We stayed 3 nights) Fast and good wifi, cosey lounge and very friendly staff. Kitchen with all you need, dining area could be bigger though for the amount of guests. Great location...

Neil and Catherine are lovely and super helpful (ask for discount coupons for some of the local attractions!). Chilled out, homey feel. Large kitchen, but might be nice to have a few more spots for people to sit together for meals. Room was clean, comfy and well heated (we didn't need the heater but it was going when we got...

The hostel is relatively close to attractions and amenities, but also quite quiet at night. Less than 5 mins walk to the iSite where the coaches stop at! The room was not so big with 6 people sharing a room but if everyone is neat it is fine, they have hot pool but I didn't get a chance to try....

We stayed here for a week as part of our travels around New Zealand. We arrived to find a hostel with good character and a friendly atmosphere. The beds were really comfortable and there we no bunks! The wi-fi was consistently good (I could steam Netflix/Amazon Prime without issues) and it didn't dip even at busy times. The kitchen was...

This hostel had the best kitchen of any hostel I've ever been in, was the cleanest, had the nicest and everything worked! All the kitchen appliances, heating, showers, toilets and water taps etc. I couldn't find a faulty one anywhere! When you top that off with the fact that you could have an actual bath in there and free wifi...

We booked for 2 nights for our stay in Rotorua and the hostel was great. The guy at the check in desk was very knowledgeable and helpful, recommending something for us to fit in on our first evening when we arrived quite late and helping us plan our full day in Rotorua the next day to get the most out...

This is one place best avoided! Good points: Well situated, easy short walk into the town centre and bus stops. No bunks, individual beds, much better than bunks, and comfortable. Big windows provide lots of natural light, and good heating for winter. Ok point: There is parking for maybe eight cars on the premises. If you're late then you'll have...

WOW Bri quite the rant You are right - we have space for 8 cars in our car park. Half of the on-street car parking is free - the other half is $2 for all day parking. Our hostel is a 1936 era building that has has been converted into a backpackers. Most people like the character. It has two...

Super location -- easy walk to shops, restaurants, fabulous Maori museum, and lake with hot springs for feet sore from hiking in the redwood forests. My young adult children and I stayed in one room with comfy beds - each with our own. The hosts are very helpful and gracious. The place is very busy, but everyone is friendly and...

We had an awesome time at Central Backpackers Rotorua. We were greeted by name on arrival by Neil the owner who proceeded to give us advice on what to do with our 2 day stay. Private room was bigger than some hotels and bed was huge. Not a party hostel. No noise, hot showers and wifi good enough to stream...
