Booked this after reading good reviews. It was very well located, but that is about it. There are other places in the same road that I would have far preferred. There was a lot of noise at night from other hostels nearby. Rooms were basic and clean. Kitchen was fairly clean although without a working tin opener. Rooms were ok....

Not great, very basic, beds very uncomfortable and dubious about being "clean", (hairs found on sheets). Had a stranger come visit the room at about 2am! Staff not particularly friendly or welcoming. Kitchen area missing basic utensils like tin opener and also not particularly clean. Very noisy neighbours in hostel opposite. Positives, location good and cheap

We have been there last week for three days. The hostel itself is well located, clean and quite. The only thing that really lets it down are the bed bugs! I am travelling with my boyfriend and as soon as we went to our room we spotted signs of a big infestation (we had this problem before, so we know...

Stayed four nights very friendly and helpful staff, spotlessly clean and comfortable, all noise after 10pm was looked after very well so a good nights sleep was had by all!! Close to all supermarkets and very close to the sea overall a very nice place to stay.

Due to an issue with another backpackers we had to find somewhere to stay and fast. Upon arriving the staff were so helpful and let us have their last room. The room was very very clean and tiny. The amenities were extremely clean, lounge room full of movies and books to borrow. Kitchen very clean. I cannot praise this accommodation...

Very cheap hostel. Basic room, good location. The bathroom is very cold because it's always open on the garden and it's unisex. Not clean neither. The owner was rude and not very helpfull. It was low season so we were almost alone in the hostel, but they lend some good movies at the reception.

I must start by saying that it is the first time my wife and I have stayed in a backpackers. We had a small separate room with private shower and toilet and no view. It was a reasonable cost for this town but it was very spartan to say the least. There was no soap and added to that was...

We stayed here for 2 nights for a stop over before going to Cape Reinga. The manager was very friendly, and the place looked good for a backpacker hostel. One thing I noticed was the kitchen needed some cleaning as some people didn't care too much of the other people living with them. Also when we slept the fist night,...

this is the first I have heard that some one has bought some bed bugs into the lodge, they do arrive in people luggage, and about 3 or 4 times a year we find traces of them, and quite often we find the bag they have travelled in or on. But you came, you stayed and said nothing, so if...

The rooms aren't bad. I was in the ground floor and I agree about the glass doors covered by curtain (below). If you're doing anything in the room and one of your dorm mates comes in or out everyone can see everything. I was placed in the wrong room, an accident I appreciate, but my things were moved without me...

Hayley, in error I put you into the wrong room, you came up and got a key for the correct room, at no time did I move your luggage. When you left I remember you asking if any thing had been handed in, had not been then and not been since. I contacted the group of 3, and the single...
