My wife and I stayed here for three nights last month, and I only got round to writing this review once we were back in the UK. This was our first trip to the fabulous Bay of Islands and, as we normally do in New Zealand, we called into the local iSite tourist info office to get recommendations. The one...

We booked into Cooks Lookout in an ocean view cabin. The cabin was what we expected from the website, no complaints there. Unfortunately, the weather had other ideas and it rained so hard that we couldn't see the ocean through the windows. On the final afternoon of our stay, the skies cleared and we got to enjoy the fabulous views...

We have stayed here 5 times over the last 13 years. We keep going back because the views from the apartments are stunning, the motel is in such a quiet location, and the apartments are always spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The first few times we visited with our 3 kids (2 bedroom apartment), and more recently as a...

Beautiful views of the harbour from this hotel. However it is situated on a hill top and about 5 min. drive to the town, main shops and beach. Transport is necessary especially for the disabled or elderly. I felt the cost of this basic unit was expensive compared to other accommodation we stayed.

After all the traveling via airplanes, trains, and rental cars, it was so enjoyable to relax and take in the beautiful view of the Bay of Islands from our spacious room at Cook's Lookout Motel. The room was very clean with a great floor plan. The large living room area was well organized with a sofa, chairs, dinning table, large...

Great place to stay for a few days. A very short drive out of town but well worth it for the views! Right next to the waterfalls and a countdown store. The pool was warm and clean. Pay the extra for the view! main reason to stay here.

We stayed here recently for one night & were not impressed.Thought the unit was very basic. The grounds & the area around the pool were not very tidy & we had no view. Maybe Paihia prices are dearer than other places close by but we did not feel it was value for money. We paid less at Kerikeri & Russell &...

We stayed here for two nights in late February and the room exactly matched the description. We were able to see the bay from, not only our room but, our bed. What a view! There was a terrace with table and chairs where we sat and ate dinner overlooking the bay. The room had all we required and was very comfortable....

We loved our stay there. Norm and Shelagh were great hosts and helped us plan our short stay by helping with restaurants and choosing which sights to see. Sitting on the deck with our coffee watching the sun rise in the morning was so relaxing, the view of Russell in the distance never tires. We swam in the pool after...

Those are the views, it is quiet, it is smoke- free, and it's less than 5 minutes drive from town and less than 5 minutes walk from the local takeaway/cafe/corner store. Good, friendly hosts. We'll be back.
