A two night stay in a rather dated but pleasant home. Very dark wall paper throughout was a little off-putting but the hosts were very welcoming and invited each of their guests to drinks each evening on their garden porch....very acceptable.

We stayed here for 2 nights. Rayma and Phillip were lovely hosts. From the canapés and wine on the veranda, watching the birds, to the complimentary decanter of port that was in our room on our return from our evening meal , they went the extra mile to ensure we were comfortable. The house is cosy and oldie fashioned in...

I've stayed at lots of B&Bs and this one was by far the nicest ever because the couple who own and run it were simply the best hosts ever. They quickly spotted a problem in our itinerary later in the week and set about solving the issue themselves. They then helped arrange two tours the following day, one the Art...

What a superb "home away from home!" Rayma and Phillip did everything and more to help us enjoy these 2 nights and 3 days in Napier. From the comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, evening wines and nibblies, suggestion, reservation, and calling for our cab for dinner, to their enjoyable personalities, the list of amenities is endless! Thank you for a memorable...

This purports to be a bed and breakfast, but is more in the boutique hotel category. The owners were incredibly hospitable, including inviting us to join them on their garden terrace in the evening for wine and an amazing asparagus quiche. Our room was amazingly comfortable, with every possibly amenity catered for. Quality of toiletries, accessories, right down to the...

A great start to this season's reviews! Thank you so much for such an amazing write up. We are so pleased you found your stay with us so enjoyable and that our facilities were appreciated. We do try to spoil our guests and make their stay as memorable as possible. At this time of the year fresh locally grown asparagus...

We stayed here in winter and this beautiful home is cosy as well as beautifully appointed. Our bed was super comfy and the bathroom large. Our hosts, Phillip and Rayma, are just so friendly and welcoming. If you find yourself in Napier, make sure you don't miss a stay at Cobden Garden Homestay.

Thank you Donna for such a friendly and positive review. It is always a concern for us making the house cosy in winter so we are pleased you found it so. As well as our wonderful firebox in the kitchen which does spread its heat into the dining room and hall all of our rooms and ensuites have their own...

A wonderfully comfortable room complete with jacuzzi and friendly hosts make this a great place to stay and the view from its lofty position above Napier is good. The breakfast was excellent. Walking into Napier would not be difficult but the walk back could be a challenge.

Thank you Ian for your complimentary review. We do have great views from upstairs and wonderful privacy downstairs with the surrounding trees and garden. It is an advantage to be on top of the hill for the views but as you mentioned it is a bit of a climb back up. Many of our guests see it as a way...

We stayed two nights in the Ahuriri room. This is a large comfortable room with great views across Napiers Westshore. The en-suite has a spa bath and walk in shower plus twin basins. Roger your review mentions many of the aspects of your stay with us. Thank you for that and we are pleased you enjoyed our services and the experience. Most guests do enjoy and mention the pre dinner wine and nibbles and mixing with the other guests. They make excellent tour guides describing their day to the new arrivals and of...

Phillip and Rayma were excellent hosts. We were invited to join them for drinks and canapes at 6.30pm to chat and meet the other guests. This was a highlight for us from all the B&B's we stayed in. Thank you for your review and we are pleased you enjoyed the pre dinner wine and nibbles. We do realise that sometimes the restaurants in town miss out on some custom because of our hors d'oeuvres however it is such a wonderful opportunity to get to know our guests and it is often mentioned in reviews so we will continue....
