If you ever lived in Riego street halls in Edinburgh, this is the double of it. Honestly, not as bad as the other reviews, clean enough, staff are nice, wifi does cost but it works. Great location. Little rough round the edges, and not very modern, but scruffy but cheap and liveable. Try not to make the mistake of booking...

3 males in a shared 4 bed dorm, kitchen and bathrooms extremely old and dirty. Rooms were also dirty with dirt/dust throughout, windows extremely old and rooms crowded. Location is great and if you're not staying for a long period of time and want to party and sleep this is the place for you otherwise do not stay here.

I stayed at Nomads Fat Camel earlier this year for a one night stay and to be blunt, the hostel is terrible. I stayed in a 10 bed dorm and found the room to be absolutely filthy and really lacking in space, the bed was also broken with planks missing under the mattress. We had a shared kitchen area which...

Overall my stay was good but that was due to other people who stayed in my dorm. Loud, young, funny, full of life other backpackers were great fun. There is a lot of permanent guests who have been there for a while but everybody was lovely and engaging. Staff were somewhat pleasant at check in and when there was no...

I stayed 3 nights, and every night they changed my room, so every day I had to move my stuff and wait till 2 pm for the check in to put them again in another room. That was really anoying and they charged me as a 6 dorm when I was staying in an 8 dorm. Apart from that, toilets...

Got surprised when we entered the room and found some people cooking and eating. Turns out there were smaller rooms that have the beds, and there's the common kitchen and bathroom and toilet. It was fun to mess around with the kitchen a little; but there just was one table that could sit 4 people so we ended up eating...

To be honest, I picked Fat Camel for two reasons: the price and location. It's very expensive in NZ so I needed to pick a place kind to my wallet. I also need to find a place close to my pick up location for the tour I was doing that started in Auckland; it legit was down the road so...

The manager obviously has the attitude that people will visit no matter what the condition because of the price and location. Facilities are ok, a few loos and showers and a kitchen on each floor, didn't have to wait for them. Beds on the other hand were terrible, bunk beds horrendously wobbly and some slats missing on the top bunks,...

good location, decent facilities - if the place was busier it might be hard to get in the washrooms though. comfortable lounge and useful kitchen / food / luggage storage. attached bar downstairs is open to the public too and shows mainly sports.
