Not much 'Grand' in evidence on my visit. The hotel is rather tired my room being decorated in a fetching tone of battleship grey. Amazed to see the hotel still had square TV's in the rooms. Light sleepers note the hotel lies on the junction of several busy roads so noise is an issue. Avoid.

This hotel is NOT what you expect from the Grand Chancellor chain. I have stayed at Hobart, Launceston, Christchurch and Perth Grand Chancellors and this does not come anywhere near the standards that you would want to see associated with this chain. The lack of maintenance and lazy housekeeping let down what could quite easily be very good rooms. Room...

Stayed here two nights. Room ok with good bathroom although part of shower head fell out fortunately missing me. This place seems primarily turned over into apartments leaving bArebones hotel operation with few services. I object to having to pay for wifi!

This place was ok, not great but not bad. While I found the hotel staff nice, they were not helpful in the least and knew nothing about the city. For instance, we were going to the Kelly tarltons sea life aquarium and asked for directions was told it was a long way away and we needed to take a taxi,...

A had a studio room with kitchenette. The room was quiet and well fitted out, with useful desk space and Sky TV. The location is brilliant - an easy walk to the waterfront restaurant strip and the shopping down town. The front desk staff were unfailingly helpful.

Positives: Staff very friendly and helpful. Negatives: Breakfast very basic. Front slices of bread in tray seemed dry as if they had been out a while. Signage poor. I took the lift to the floor of my room but there were no labels saying which way to find which room numbers so it I had to go hunting.

The location of the hotel is very good, just a short walk to the Viaduct in one direction and to the Sky City in the other. The Hotel its self is in need of a good make over, the bathroom was very worn, the whole suite was in need of a paint job. I will say that the room it's...

This place is awful. Overpriced dirty rundown The tv was old and tiny The toilet seat had other people's hair on it. The carpet was filthy. The curtains look like they came out of a very bad 80s movie. The owners have made no investment in this hotel and I would only book it if there was absolutely nothing else...

Perfect place to stay to experience down town Auckland, The Viaduct, Cloud Queens Wharf, Princes Wharf and Wynyard Quarter. Stunning views over the harbour towards the harbour bridge. Very welcoming and professional staff. Appreciated the personalised card in our apartment. the balcony was perfect place to enjoy a wine or two!

Not the place to stay for what should have been a nice couple of nights in the big city. Unfortunately the photos are misleading. Our room had a dirty feel to it with a large damp stain on the carpet and a dark and dingy bathroom. The price of the continental breakfast is absurd. $38 for some toast, muesli, juice...
