This is the grottiest hotel we've stayed in for a long time. The bathroom is outdated, the tiles are long overdue a regrout. The sink was dirty, the toilet roll was all but empty, bathroom mirror was all smudged, the coverlet on the bed was tatty, check in was a lengthy process and there's no wifi. Definitely the worst hotel... More

The hotel is in a good location as its close to many downtown activities and only a 25 minute walk from Mount Eden. Their is a parking lot available but it costs $25 a night. The staff was very friendly during our stay and helped check in to the room as early as possible. The hotel itself needs some updates.... More

We spent our first night in NZ at this hotel. We won't be going back there. The whole place had an unpleasant smell in all the common areas. We were charged $25 per night for parking (lucky we were only staying one night) and there was no free WiFi. This place bills itself as a four star hotel, but it's... More

Have a studio room extremely disappointed considering 4 star establishment. Very stark room. Only one bedside lamp. Room appears neglected. Limited Tv. Have kitchenette but where to sit / food on lap the only option. Really small room not pleasant. A disappointing finish to what has been a great holiday in New Zealand.

Did not price beat as per policy advertised on website, which says they will give 10% of the lowest price on other websites. Had to argue and stand in the foyer for 30mins while they gave me shady excuses. Paid the full sum and manager said he would call me back the next day, never called me. Also, didn't make... More

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and tidy though the bathroom was a little dated. We slept in a room that had two singles that are used as a kind bed for couples. Only problem was they were on wheels and kept rolling together every time you sat on them. Very convenient location and we... More

Handy place to stay in downtown Auckland and friendly helpful staff who were accommodating to our needs to leave our bags while we explored the city. The room layout was a bit odd and unfortunately we didn't have a harbour view. The TV in the bedroom in particular was in a place where it was uncomfortable to view.

In Auckland on business and booked in by the company holding our conference. First impression was good as the ideal central location was easy to find right on Hobson st. Unfortunately downhill from there as the less than friendly or competent greeting/check in led us to cramped, dated accommodation. On checking the tariff, it seemed commensurate with the offering -... More

Good location, BUT as previous reviewers have said, very old tired room, paint chipping on walls, dingy shower curtain over very narrow bath. King bed!! that was actually 2 singles pushed together with big lumpy gap in middle - and also uncomfortable. We parked in building close by and were charged $30 from 5pm to 10am next day. Then saw... More
