Staff- very nice and helpful Kitchen- very clean with plenty of space to work although the ovens are not very good. Bathroom- quality of shower was good but whoever was there when we were managed to soak the entire shower room floor to the point that the water was coming out under the door. I assume this is more a...

I went to YHA expecting high standards, as it is internationally well known... and I am very sorry to say that their quality is not only poor but low. I was happy when I saw the big kitchen area, wide and clean. They only have two toilets and two showers per floor, so that's not good but manageable. I was...

Thank you for your feedback and sorry for the inconvenience caused by this unfortunate situation. The problem with the room occurred as the lock on the specific room had failed and only came to light when you returned to the hostel. The “third” person in the room had mixed up their allocated room number, which was on the same floor,...

I've been in a few hostels around Auckland and I must say that YHA city is the best I have been to. Kitchen, toilets and every room are neat and clean. Free internet which I think this is one of the most importance things, some hostels charge like 4 dollars per day, is insane. As well, is a really cheap...

Equipped with rooms, toilets, showers, kitchen, wifi, washing, etc. YHA also provides bookings for tours from the North to the South Island. This hostel was clean, staff were fine and the location is good. However the rooms were rather bad. We stayed in a 4 bed female dorm which didn't have a heater, making 'one of the coldest nights in Auckland' especially cold. The only power points in the room were also located at the head of my bed. Bathrooms were fine....

Stayed for 3 nights in the city YHA, it was clean, comfortable and a good location. We booked a 2 person dorm, and it was pretty much a private twin room so we were happy with that, to have our own space. The shared bathroom facilities were kept clean. The room was on the 4th floor and we had no...

I stayed in this hostel for five nights and overall have nothing bad to say about it. It was one of the cleanest hostels I've been to, including the room, toilets and showers. It was very quiet, which is probably also due to off-season and not having the hostel full. The bed was squeaky but comfortable enough, the temperature in...

This hostel was very clean and pretty. If you are the party and drinking type then don't stay here, the vibe is usually very mellow and quite, definitely not a party hostel, but the cleanliness and quality of the rooms and kitchen was refreshing. I found the maids to be a bit rude, one even walked straight into my room...

I stayed there for a cuple if nights in the beginning of may. The Hostel was ok! I stayed in a double room, which was very small. The bathroom were very clean & the showers worked well.. The location was good, 10 mins to the center. Nice asian restaurants just around the corner!

A typical hostel. It's not bad, but there's nothing brilliantly stand out. Lovely amount of kitchen facilities. The whole place was very clean looking. Probably slightly out of date for the modern traveller, my room had two plug sockets...both above a bed. So unusable during the night as someone was sleeping there. Good location for central Auckland activities. 10 min...
