Short on smiles and service, in need of some help on what's expected in a city hotel. Much better choices within a few hundred metres. I'm unlikely to return for work or pleasure as it is. Room service, or at least an alternative should be available past 9.00 pm, minimal comforts provided in the room.
Nice clean room. Central location in city Staff are helpful. Good breakfast too. The hotel is comfortable. Good welcome drinks and great WiFi connectivity. Small kitchen helps a lot when you want your own quick bite.
Carpark for 30 dollars per night. Extra fees when paying with visa. Limited to 500mb "free" wifi. Tiny room with a view onto walls. Crowded elevators in case there is one. Definetly not going there again.

Dear Christoph, We are sorry that you were unhappy about the car-parking and credit card charges. Unfortunately most, if not all, CBD hotels do charge up to $40+ for parking due to the limited spaces available. And it is becoming the norm in New Zealand for hotels to charge a credit card fee to cover for the merchant fees (up to 3.5%) we get charged, but we do offer other payment methods that have no extra fees (e.g. EFTPOS and cash). We are negotiating with our internet supplier to provide more free WiFi, so we aim to be able to provide that sometime in the New Year. As for room sizes, we do have rooms starting at 22 sq.m and going up to 70+ sq.m depending on room type booked. Our hotel is currently close to being fully booked every night, so this can lead to crowded lifts during certain times (e.g. check out), but most times they should be fine. Thank you for your valuable feedback. Regards Auckland City Hotel
We stayed here for 1 night after our cruise before our flight back to Australia. We managed to walk from the harbour up hill to the hotel with our bags and left them with the hotel attendant until our room was ready. The room was good and clean. We had dinner in the restaurant, meals were plentiful. My husband had a pizza and I had soup and an entree neither of which we could finish. We walked from the hotel to Sky Tower and the War Memorial Museum in the Domain which was very interesting. We also stopped in at Fr Ted's Irish Pub for a drink on the way back. We had to get up early the next morning to be at the airport by 5.30am to catch a flight at 7.30am. We booked a taxi through the hotel for 5am ($60 NZ) which arrived on time and had us at the airport by 5.30am.
Stopped prior to cruise Hotel central easy walking to harbour/sky tower/bus tours. staff friendly and helpful Early arrival 7am so room not ready but luggage stored map given and we were off! Lots to see and do then return to hotel We had 2 room apartment complex even washing machine with powder Small cafe in hotel lobby for fresh baked goodies and coffee Would definitely stay again
