We wanted to like this place, but it was truly disappointing. We reserved our room for two nights, but after a storm which resulted in no water, we left after one. We travel frequently and understand that problems occur, but there was no one onsite to help us. We literally knocked on doors to get someone to help and he...

Stayed at Leigh Sawmill at short notice. It was convenient at the time, but they seemed to use their desire to be "green" as an excuse for not providing a standard of accommodation one would have expected for the price tag. Poor interior finish, grubby, mattress needed replacing - and very noisy fridge that we had to turn off overnight....

Nice enough room and large. However the walls between guest rooms are paper thin and everything can be heard between rooms. It really lets this barn renovation down. Not romantic. Ants in bathroom weren't great, mirror not secured to wall properly and almost fell on to the floor. Carpet beetle a shame too. TV appears to get "turned off" by...

Stayed here overnight because of its convenience to Goat Island. Reception on arrival fairly average with little information provided but fortunately we knew were to go and what to do so it wasn’t an issue for us. We booked the apartment which is accessed though the dorm block adjacent to the laundry room. One of the largest rooms seen in...

We stayed here for one night in the dorms. The cafe itself is really nice, good craft beers and a nice atmosphere. It closes at 5pm on Monday to Wednesday, but there are places nearby to eat /drink in the evening. The accommodation is ok, standard dorm and nice enough bathroom. The kitchen really lets it down - it is...

We stayed here after a drive from Auckland airport. Arrived quite late but only for only one night to snorkel Goat Island the next morning. The place was fine for that. Price was as expected, room was a huge area with own seating outside. There was a large double furnishings basic but clean. Didn't eat there but seemed good atmosphere....

I stayed here for only one night to snorkel Goat Island early the next morning, and it was fine for that. Check-in service at the bar / reception was unremarkably adequate. Price point was right. PROs: - reasonable price - Soap and towel provided - heater in room could be positioned near the bed - functional kitchen CONs: - only...

We stayed for a night in the apartment at the sawmill. It is a great space with ample room for entertaining and a fully equiped kitchen. The bed is comfy and the blackout curtains nake it a perfect space to catch up on some sleep. The apartment was spotless. The Sawmill is well established as the main entertainment venue at...

An enjoyable night away from the kids mixing good food, great beer and live music a combination of what we both enjoy... Accommodation nothing fancy but fine, comfortable and clean. The service not as good as it could be but the Food was fine and the beer as always fantastic.

I've stayed here several times over the past 5 years. Overall great place, memorable meal here of beautiful meal of fresh peas from their gardens and salmon. Accommodation needs updating and soon - a shower curtain has been ripped for over 3 years now! The one with the naked lady on it. Also TV and internet need updating I think....
