Great location close to all public transport & Skybus depot. Allowed drop off of bags well before 2pm check in time and happy for us to leave them for a few hours upon checkout . Beds are uncomfortable .. Apart from that a great place to stay.

Close to Southern Cross station and everything 'Melbourne'. The room was dated and the furnishings need to be changed. The 'Exercise Room' was something of a joke. But the staff were always friendly and the bed was comfortable. The price is right too.

This hotel would have to be the worst I have ever stayed at! The reverse cycle airconditioner did not work. It was winter, we complained and we got 2 little heaters. Paint peeling, power points coming off walls. Don't stay in the back rooms, the noise from the rubbish trucks and the noisy compressior at the back of the next...

This hotel is in a central location, but either Australia distributes stars like candies or they don't ask for much. This hotel would be a 3 or 2 star hotel by US or European standards. The rooms are clean and large with a kitchen, but the spring mattress has expired in the 90's... The staff is friendly, everything works, and...

There was 5 of us so we booked a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom , was well laid out , close to trams and only 10 minute walk to city, rooms a bit out dated and bathrooms needed an update , suited our needs and cost for 1 night, staff at front counter very friendly ,

I always return to the Harbour View when I can. A great location, close to Queen Victoria Markets, many restaurants, Dfo & Crown complex. Very good attentive staff & good size room. Not luxurious but certainly comfortable and functional, representing very good value !

When travelling, we always seek special, intimate accommodations where you get in touch with the local flavor and have a memorable stay, avoiding the empty heart of a big hotel. We booked this one night in Melbourne very shortly before arriving here so our choice was influenced by availability and price criteria. We were overall disappointed by the experienced but...

For quite three years I am travelling around the world by pushbike. I stay in guesthouses, hostels, hotels wild camping with my tent, caravan parks with my tent or in a cabine. I stayed for four nights there and it was great. big apartement, small balcony (for my bike) . nothing to complain. if you come by car, make sure...

We stayed here for several nights and found it a great place to stay. It was out of the hustle and bustle of the busy city central area, but close enough to catch transport to the central shopping areas. Tram stops were just outside and it is also on the free City Circle tram route, which stopped on this corner....

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
