Rare for me to say this, but my stay with the ibis (little bourke street) has been fantastic, able to check in early without hassel, greeted by the friendly Lauren at reception, there was personality in this hotel, the staff were friendly including the housekeeper greeting you as you pass by.... the bed was comfortable for a good night stay..... Ideal for an overnight stay in the city. Our 'superior' room was basic at best, no iron in room, no bedside lamps; a bit like staying in a mini office but with no free wifi. Our room was on the 5th floor, the view was a concrete wall and the noise from live music coming from the building next door... More

Dear JoweyDorset Thank you for your valuable feedback on your recent stay. Apologies that there was not an iron in your room. All rooms are equipped with an iron and board located in the wardrobe. The iron is located on one of the shelves. Bedside lamps are installed into the bed head. Internet access is a challenging option. In the... More

Rooms were value for money paid, though I did find them a little small and the pictures to be deceiving. Staff are friendly and caring; Great service and happy to help should you have any questions. Rooms are very clean and maintained well, though, if possible, request any other rooms than the ones that end in 8. You will be... More

Dear LabelsandTravel Thank you for your valuable feedback on your recent stay at the hotel. It is pleasing to hear that you found my aspects of the hotel to your liking. Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
