Second time staying here, such a great location for getting to and from airport with skybus only over the road. I arrived on a late flight, no problem checking-in, they even ask you what time you prefer to have your room serviced during your stay. Which is a great idea if like me you're not an early riser on holiday...

This hotel is 5minutes walk from Southern Cross Station, which is handy if you are arriving late and get the Skybus from the airport, you can just walk straight out from Skybus drop off and straight down the street to the hotel. The staff were all very friendly, the Easter eggs on the bed for easter were very thoughtful. Its...

Cute little room, we could hear the trams rumble along the tracks! Was great watching from our window. Room and bathroom, only thing I didn't realize it doesn't have a fridge.... thought the hotel location was easy access to city central. Would stay again.

Simple hotel. Small lobby area. But staff were friendly and accomodating. Cleaned room and comfortable bed. Good for couple but not for family space especially for kids as room was a bit small. Great location, bit far from busy place but still in the free tram zone.

Its a great little hotel that is so close to just about everything, Spencer St Station and Skybus terminal is literally 10mins walk away. You can jump on a tram to get around the city sq and out to docklands for shopping and Etihad which is also about a 15min walk. MCG is about 30minutes or so walk, less if...

The Ibis Little Bourke St is ideal as it is close to Southern Cross railway Station and within 5 minutes walk to Trams. It is also within walking distance to Melbourne's China Town. The hotel is very economical as well.

My friend and I were in a premium twin share room. We arrived very early and told the counter girl we wanted to get into our room as early as was practicable. She promised to phone when the room was ready.. We went for a meal ad returned two hours later, but the room remained unavailable. We left again and...

Excellent location, super close to southern cross station (a few mins walking distance), and close to the emporium and chinatown too. Room was small and the air conditioning was quite noisy but didnt cause major issues. Service was friendly. We got what we paid for, good value over all.

I had to travel during Formula One so was charged at Five Star Hotel rates; which probably colours my review. Ibis was all that was available and it's very much a 3 star motel. On the plus side; rooms were a good size and housekeeping was done well. Breakfast ($20 per day) was pretty good, buffet style with hot and...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
