Lygon Lodge is perfectly positioned on Lygon Street. It is handy to the City, RMIT and Uni of Melbourne (about a 10-15 minute walk). Restaurants and supermarkets are all within close walking distance. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the free wifi, which worked...More
It's not a 5 star hotel. Rooms are quite decent. Clean and refurbished daily with fresh towels and amenities. You have a service area where it's provided with microwave, stove, kettle and refrigerator. The best part is its location. At the heart of Carlton along...More
clean, we had a one with kitchenette which was fab, the outdoor noise on deck was annoying but inside was really nice, priced well and right in Lygon street. we will be back and it has elevator for better comfort
Although not far from the city buzz it's quiet on Lygon st and you can cross the road with relative ease considering your in a city. Being a nature lover, the parks and gardens within walking distance are a delight. The lodge is close to...More
This spotless hotel in the middle of bustling Lygon Street offers comfortable, generous sized rooms. Our slumber was, however, interrupted by a rhythmical huffing sound like the respirator in an intensive care ward, which wheezed at us all night. It seemed to emanate from the...More
If you want real parmesan, cut from the block, grated over your pasta with a twist of style, this is the place. Until recently, this neighbourhood was home to the notorious ‘Carlton Crew,’ a pseudo mafia who started their day with a local espresso. They are gone, but the espresso still runs strong in this Little Italy which has something for everyone. Starched white tablecloths, candles, pizza the way
they do it "back home" and maybe even a bit of amore. The number of gelato choices will leave you in a state of indecision and wide footpaths, big awnings and a sea of packed tables makes this al fresco dining experience a continental buzz. Even if you’re not eating, it’s worth the stroll just for the people-watching, which, of course, is an Italian tradition.

Hi Gilbert I believe the car parking was free but it was a fairly small car park....careful on the way in through the back lane and out again as it is a thoroughfare for other businesses. There is car parking elsewhere around the area. I was more nervous about getting a car park at the front reception for check in as it is a busy street and has trams etc but it all seemed to flow ok.
There is some parking and it is very handy in that area of the city. The parking is limited and a little crammed So small car ideal Give them a ring or email them letting them know that you would like a park.
