We stayed overnight for a weekend get away. This has been my third visit to Hotel Causeway and it alway offers clean, comfortable and affordable accommodation. Its location is fantastic and literally behind David Jones and lots of little lane ways with plenty of cafes and restaurants close by. Our king room was clean and comfortable and even though we...

We just spent two nights at this hotel. The location is unbeatable, in beautiful Howey place off Little Collins, betweed Elizabeth and Swanston street. Cafés lane ways, winebars and boutique shopping on your doorstep. Our room price included breakfast which was a selection of cereals, pastries, breads, fruit yogurt tea coffee and juices. The room although a little old was very clean...

We stayed one night in this hotel having flown over to watch the State of Origin 2 at the MCG. We booked on line at a very good rate . Our check in was okay as it seems to be policy that no one can gain access until 2.00pm regardless of whether or not the room is available. We arrived...

What can I say the room we had was great clean plenty of coffee and tea. Breakfast was included just enough to get one started. Room not big but not small. There is a charge for Wi Fi i feel this should have been free for two hrs per day Reason i say this is that it is good for...

Good location, but room was not clean. A lot of black mould in shower, worn furniture and poor customer service. Unfortunately left some clothes in wardrobe so rang hotel (1:15pm) prior to next check-in (2pm) yet clothes never found. After numerous phone calls, the manager finally calls back after 2 months to say sorry but bad luck. Good luck.

Good central location, well priced, however it's located down an alley way and there isn't many drop off/pick up locations available around the hotel. A strong smell of hot oil hit us as we entered the hotel, which was a little off-putting. Room was clean. Bed comfy. Pillows could do with replacing as they were very flat.

I have stayed at many Hotels in Melbourne but none have been so perfectly located. A short walk through an arcade or David Jones and you are in Burke St Mall. Our twin share room was on the 4th floor and was clean and comfortable and surprisingly large. The beds were very comfortable and the linen and towels in the...

We stayed here this visit for just short of a week. The location is excellent being close to many things and the continental breakfast does the job. Sadly this time in our room you could hear every noise coming from outside. This made our sleep broken. Staff were not friendly, they couldn't even acknowledge you when walking past reception. This...

Having stayed at this hotel a couple if years ago and having had a good experience, we decided to stay again. The hotel is centrally located for our shopping trip and close to interesting alleyways and cafés and restaurants. It would be nice for more than 2 containers of milk to be available in the room. As it was, we...

This hotel is in a great location in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. The amenities and price are excellent for this location tucked into a nice archade between major streets in the middle of the shopping district. You can walk or hop on a free tram to go anywhere you want. We had a quiet, comfortable and well-appointed room. We...

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
