I stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst on business in Melbourne. Whilst a little dated & showing signs of wear, it still offers quality service and an element of old world charm that is a contrast to most modern establishments. It is located very conveniently in the heart of the city and is close to all the transport...

We booked and paid for our room and breakfast on the hotel's website and were pleasantly surprised to find that we were upgraded from a studio to a 1 bed-room apartment on the top floor. Apartment was very nice and spacious with a well laid out kitchen, including a coffee maker (bit disappointing to find that you had to pay...

The Grand Hotel was the former Victorian Railways Administration offices-built in 1893, the largest building to be built in the 1800’s. It is National Trust classified and on the Victorian Heritage Register. Out the front at the corner of Flinders and Spencer Streets is a full size artistic representation of Melbourne’s iconic W-class tram. The Melbourne City council paid $340,000...

I stayed for 4 nights, received great service from the staff, the room was clean & ideally suited for my requirements, a place to stay & a business base. The hotel is centrally located & makes for ease to access public transport.

I booked a room at $249 to find I had a non renovated room. It is very deceptive on the website. One has to book a deluxe room. I then had to pay an extra $30 per night. The hotel is not on Collins and should not charge city prices in the backpackers area. All rooms should be the same...

Grand Hotel offers a very convenient location in the City of Melbourne, clean rooms, kitchen facilities, attractive lobby and friendly professional staff. High quality restaurant with a great choice of food. However, despite a very advanced insulation you still can hear the tram system noise from outside. If you are fine with that, the hotel it a perfect place to...

I stayed here for one night and was upgraded on arrival (Accor member) to a room at the back of the hotel with a view over the railway. While clean, tidy etc it was a bit disappointing due to the poor lay out of the room. However our meals in the restaurant were very good and service excellent. Location is...

The hotel is a very grand building, but the rooms just don't live up to the character. The halls and foyers are beautiful, but the actual rooms are bland. We have now stayed twice in 2 different rooms and while clean and spacious, the word bland comes back each time I walk into the room. Saying this the rooms are...

Was in Melbourne for work at the convention centre which is a 5 min walk away. This hotel has charm! I stayed in a split level studio. Loved the bathroom amenities by Appelles which is free from animal testing. Only feedback is the single lift is quite slow and given it's age probably in need for a service. Also there...

We really enjoyed our 4 night stay. It has real style and character. Perfect location. The breakfast was amazing and great value. I tried everything on the menu. Our room had a balcony which we enjoyed looking over the city. The pool area was a joy with all the lovely sunlight and surrounding gardens.
