I've been staying at the Westin Melbourne regularly now for over 8 years and have racked up well over 150 nights. Frankly it feels like home every time I stay. When I pull up out front I'm always greeted by name, (usually by the always cheerful Brad) & then the check-in process is always fast, efficient & friendly. The hotel... More

My second visit in two years. Westin located in a perfect location, and we simply love it. There's was an hour or so delay in the check-in, but we took our time strolling ard the city and couldn't care less abt it. Room was generous and had everything that you would need. Staffs were very helpful and welcoming. It will... More

The Westin is a favourite of ours and we'll come here again and again. The rooms are large and the bathrooms huge and we stayed in a gorgeous room with a view of the city. I even was treated to a bottle of champagne for my birthday! The buffet breakfast was great and the best part was where it was... More

We visited Melbourne last weekend and stayed at the Westin for 2nights. In house breakfast is expensive but that's OK because there are plenty of places nearby that cater beautifully for all meals. The room was large and luxurious and looked onto Collins Street. The bed was large and comfy. Lovely bathroom. Staff were courteous and the location is very... More

Dear Karen T, Thank you for your comments.. We are pleased you enjoyed the luxury of space and the view on Collins Street, together with our signature Westin Heavenly Bed. We apologise for the discomfort of noise caused by the tram line being upgraded adjacent to the hotel. Yarra Trams did confirm the works would commence in another location to... More

The Westin Melbourne is located right in the city-centre. The rooms are spacious, nicely decorated with gorgeous views over the city and are being cleaned daily -no turn down service-. The staff are friendly and correct. On our floor unfortunately the cleaning lady decided not to regularly replenish the bathroom amenities until we requested her to, neither was she vacuum... More

I normally stay at the Intercontinental when in Melbourne but when Westin popped up as an option I jumped to try it. I was very pleasantly surprised. The welcome at the door set the right impression and the classically modern interior was impressive worth plenty of comfortable chairs, a grand, sweeping staircase, plenty of natural light and that fresh hotel... The Westin in Melbourne has been my home away from home for many years. They have amazing staff who attend to every detail that you would want from a hotel. Well appointed rooms and fantastic location in central Melbourne CBD make it Melbourne's best hotel!

The hotel is faultless. It is a typical first class hotel with all the bells and whistles. Lovely big room, big bathroom and good breakfast in the restaurant. The bed was heavenly, with top quality linen. The location is probably the best in Melbourne, close to the shops and restaurants. However, to me it sort of lacked the "WOW" factor,... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighbourhood Profile
Central Business District
Full of discovery and delight, Melbourne’s laneways tease the imagination long after you’ve put your weary feet up to rest. They weave through the heart of the city: cafes, bars, restaurants and boutiques, throbbing with conversation and espresso coffee. You never quite know what you’ll find around the next corner: cobblestone alleys, old beer barrel hoists and even vats of simmering organic soup. There is the air of Berlin in the street art, a touch of Paris in the umbrella-shaded cafes and, reminiscent of Rome, eateries tucked away in the most unlikely of places. Perhaps you might want a break and cross the Yarra River to Southbank - walk along the promenade, bask in the sun at a waterside bar and decide whether to go to the nearby casino or book a ticket at the Melbourne theatre company.
